Front end trailer hitch

Hey all. Hope everyone is well. I'm looking to add a hitch receiver to the front end of my 2001 JGC. Has anyone done this or have any ideas on how to do it? In talking with eTrailers, they claim to have one that will fit the frame, but I'm worried that I'll need to cut out parts of the front bumper and not sure what it would end up looking like. Any suggestions or ideas for a front-mounted hitch would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Matt

Re: Front end trailer hitch

One reason is to allow using a hitch-mounted winch on either the front or back of the vehicle.

Re: Front end trailer hitch

yep the hitch-mounted winch is one reason, as I already have a hitch-mounted winch plate from my old TJ. Other reason is that I want to have better maneuverability for moving some equipment and trailers around my property.

I'm really curious about cutting up the front bumper and making it look good after the fact - any other ideas on that front too?

If you in fact have a 2001, then you are going to want to post here:

Re: Front end trailer hitch

Try Bodiak Hitches and Accessories I bought one there for a Ford Expy several years ago. Great for being able to mount carriers, bike racks, etc while still towing.
