My bad, I should've just quoted/responded to Aiyer, because it sounds like that's what they're trying to do.

But that black plastic part above the grill doesn't come off...You have to gently move it to make space for your arms if you plan on removing the inserts that way.

Another lengthy thread all about the "top-down method" or just removing the whole bumper to do it:

2014 Grand Cherokee Chrome Grille available?

If you plan on trying the top-down method, good luck. I struggled for hours, but some have done it in a half hour, supposedly.

Re: Front grill rings

Yeah, I tried last night to remove it, just stays attached, saw some U metal shapped brackets...thought it would be an easy removal...guess not! So, I guess that the best option IS to take down the front end...thanks for the link, I'll read into it as well, surely at one point I will want to go and inspect or clean there....and the facted that I like to take crap apart...

sorry YFD322, don't want to hijack your thread! I'll let you know if I find a solution for the top part...

I'm almost positive that black piece is molded to the entire front fascia. I don't suggest trying to remove it.

Those options I listed are the only ones to gain access unless you start cutting it apart.

Re: Front grill rings

Pinetar,

thanks a lot. But, is that the same for a 2012 WK2? I want to remove the whole 1 piece fake chrome thing.

YFD_322,

Really sorry to hijack your thread.

Cheers,
-A

Negative. '11 - '13 models are different.

See here for reference: Removing CHROME GRILL OVERLAY on 2012 WK2

Sorry, I overlooked your signature saying which model year you have.
