Re: front license plate relocate?

I'm curious too. My Jeep came w/o the front bracket installed and I just can't bring myself to make holes in the bumper, even if it is "just a Jeep". At the moment I'm running around with no front plate in a state (NY) that requires it.

Re: front license plate relocate?

If you plan on mounting it, it will look better centered, where it belongs, rather than off to the side. The holes will not show, and you won't see those stupid looking dimples in the front bumper.

Plus, when you are driving you can't see the plate. Those that can see it don't GARA where your plate is, whether there are holes in the bumper, or whether or not you even have a bumper.

The Jeep won't feel a thing.

Only because the dealer had to get me a bracket. Mine was the first '14 into the dealership, and as a sold order to Delaware, Jeep did not include one. The sig picture was taken the day of delivery.

The front plate is my beach permit, and I'm happy to display it. Delaware was even nice enough to include a picture of a Jeep.

Re: front license plate relocate?

I relocated mine to the shelf in the garage. If you don't have it on, don't put it on there. The front end looks miles better without it.

^ x2. I did the same.

But if that isn't an option and you're worried about getting pulled over for it, I'd honestly just put it in the place it was meant to be. It looks best centered anyway and it would cover up the dimples that indicate where it goes, as already said. Just my thoughts.

Re: front license plate relocate?

I bit the bullet and installed the front plate tonight. My wife refused to drive the Jeep w/o a plate (not necessarily a bad thing! ) and I'm getting "nice" plates for it anyway. I couldn't come up with anything better than the stock location. It's "just a Jeep".

Re: front license plate relocate?

you can get the no drill front plate brackets. I have the altec show and go and lots of nyc ppl run them as well.

Also traffic agents can ticket you for that as well...i see this bmw on my block ticketed twice..one time i ask the agent..street cleaning isnt for another 15 mins..what is he getting a ticket for? She replied no front plate..see it on dash but that dont work. Next week he gave in and see a front plate on it.

Re: front license plate relocate?

Mine did not come with a bracket. Dealer drilled it right into the bumper. Alternative would be to lay it on the dashboard like the Corvette guys do? No thanks.

Re: front license plate relocate?

I say don't use a front plate. I requested my plate not be mounted or my Jeep be washed before I picked it up.

I could care less if no one else can see the holes. What matters is what the most important person driving the Jeep thinks and that's me.

...and with this "It's just a Jeep" thing you keep typing as if the Jeep brand has less significance then some other hoity toity manufacturer.
