Front Parking Sensors - has anyone installed them?

Has anyone installed front parking sensors on non-Summit / non-SRT trims?

I have a 2014 Limited which has the same navi (RA4) as those two "upper" trims. I am interested in adding them to the front of the car. I am committed to the MyGig LockPick and a front camera but since I will be taking the bumper off, I might as well add these.

Just like with my other efforts to retrofit active cruise control with STOP, the answer I got from the Chrysler engineers is that it is not advisable to modify (without any helpful information) - not that it is technologically impossible.

Apparently these are the sensors for the back (of which I have 4) and I probably need 6 for the front. I would settle for a kit of 4 universal Mopar parking Sensors. I will probably manage to drill the holes with the overpriced drill tool and I will most likely manage to convince the dealership to reflash the system and add them. I have several questions before I go further with the project:

1) are the universal parking sensors for the rear the same as the front? The Australians have a specific part number for them and these sensors are sold apparently as an accessory for Laredo.
2) where do you connect the sensors ? do you connect them into another module (most likely) and then where do you connect the module to the rest of the electric infrastructure?
3) has anyone done it for the front of the car?
4) do I really need 6 or can I get away with 4 sensors only (Summits/SRTs have 6 front sensors)
5) Is anyone else in Chicago also interested and willing to tackle this project together?

And somewhat related - what type of connector does the factory rear backup camera have? Can it be connected to a Lockpick (i suspect not).

Thank you.

I've been overwhelmed by the interest and the responses.
Please, patiently await your turn...

Based on the overwhelming responses...I suppose most people would be interested, nobody tried...and really nobody cares...

I wouldn't say nobody cares. I just can't answer a single one of your questions.

I posted a similar inquiry before and didn't really get too many answers. I think nobody knows. If you find a way to make it work please advise because this is something i would like to do. I think it's pretty ridiculous that the front parking sensors are only available on the Summmit. My friend's 2010 FX35 has sensors everywhere and Cameras in the front and rear.

Well I fully intend to do the front camera mod, which will be installed in the radiator grille. If you look in the center of the grille, there is a plastic support at the bottom of the 2 center slots. To mount the camera there (center) I would have to take down the front bumper. If I have the front bumper off, why wouldn't I do the parking sensor enhancement? It's easy enough to add a completely separate, aftermarket parking sensor system, but I would like to integrate it with the system already in the car as the upper trims. I know it is possible, but I lack the know-how for the time being, and I would like to go to the dealership fully articulating my request for parts and labor.

A 2010 Infiniti FX35 had an MSRP of $42,850. To get the features mentioned above required $4,800 in options (two option packages). The total MSRP for the FX35 and those options, in 2010, is $47,650. That's the equivalent of $51,305 in 2014. $48,195 for a Summit, which is equipped as well as a loaded FX35 (more than those two option packages), doesn't seem outrageous in comparison.

This might not be what the OP is looking for, but what about installing a laser jammer. I don't have any personal experience with them, but heard they can be switched to a proximity sensor for the front when not in jammer mode. May not be as elegant as the sensors installed in a Summit, but maybe a good substitute? Maybe no good spot to place them on the JGC? Not sure.

Where did you read that on the laser jammers? And if caught with one by police...

The whole idea is to integrate it nicely with the existing hardware. For all other aftermarket applications there is always Amazon or NewEgg...and will probably work just as good and much cheaper. Bu I hate wires and I do not want to run more wires inside the car than I have to.

Like everything else, I assume usage of the laser jammer depends on your state law. From my research I know that some laser jammers have a dual mode so they can be placed in parking assist mode, for example:

Laser Interceptor - https://www.laser-interceptorusa.com/info

or

Blinder HP-905 - HP-905 Compact Quad Sensor: Laser Jammer Technology | Blinder Xtreme- Official Home Page

These should integrate nicely, but it would require running wires. Also, these can serve as dual purpose as oppose to the "cheaper solutions".

But, I totally understand where you're coming from. Like you, I wish the front parking sensors were standard on all JGC models. Heck, I have front and back parking sensors on my 2012 Ford Focus.
