Re: Front parking sensors on Overland?

I'm sure they can be added at a cost. Is it worth it? Depends. I would want them but don't know i would want them to drill holes on my front bumper. If trading up for a summit is out of the question, can't you buy the summit or high altittude front fascia which already comes pre-drilled with the holes for the sensors? Just a thought.

Personally i would prefer a camera which i have but haven't gotten around to installing due to getting cables through the firewall. Buts once you do that your all set and have a front cam.
As someone mentioned above, look into getting a lockpick or the RAX. Wont be disappointing.

They come unpainted so you would have the cost of that but it will never match the factory paint and clear and the nose of the vehicle is the absolute worst spot (besides hood) to not have factory paint/clear, IMHO.

But I hear ya, I can only imagine how "tight" and straight a dealer tech would drill those holes...u would have a ton of touch-ups...

Very curious to see the outcome tho, the front sensors are invaluable for snugging up accurately within inches every time.

Re: Front parking sensors on Overland?

This would be great to add to the Overland. I'm not worried about how accurately I can place the sensors, but how to program it into the Overland so it displays correctly like it does on the Summit and the rear of the Overland.

the system will have to be turned on after they are installed. they have a guy who can access and turn the software switch on and it will display on the dash correctly.

"They" being the dealer who can (and will) turn on this feature? That would be fantastic.

unofficial update, it is going to be around $1200.00 dollars to add, $300 sensors, $350 bumper cover(US dealers don't have because it s not offered in the states) , paint and install around $550. I am ok without sensors but when dollars come available I will probably do the install.

Re: Front parking sensors on Overland?

Why not add a front camera for considerably less than the cost of front parking sensors retrofit ? (If only people searched: it was just as costly in 2013 when I looked into it...)

my question is how that works without having to disconnect it when I take it in for service. I do not have the factory "eye" for the adaptive cruise. I bought the lifetime warranty and do not want to void it. I hold onto vehicles for a long time.

The front camera has NOTHING to do with the Active Cruise Control / Forward Collision Warning.

Essentially there are two ways of doing it. My way or The other way.

The other way is slicker, but requires you to flash custom software on the UConnect headunit. If you were to take it to the dealer, you might have to flash something ...and reflash back when you leave the dealership.

My way is hardware only. Not only do you not flash anything, not only you can remove it without trace, but for a dealership visit all you have to do is press a combination of buttons. I personally don't - my dealership doesn't care - at least not for the past 2 years.

Re: Front parking sensors on Overland?

I just assumed they came on the Overland since they came with my HA - it was a pain to get the dealer to confirm it though as they had no HA on the lot, and the order sheet didn't specifically call it out either.

Does the HA have the summit bumper cover?

Yes, both the front and rear fascia for HA is derived from the Summit.
