There's an easy mod you can do for two hooks on the HA/Summit.

Re: Front parking sensors on Overland?

The hooks are cheap if you want to add them. I paid $135 shipped for the OEM hooks. Mounting points are there you just need to cut two small holes in the plastic for them to poke through. Black hooks on black plastic you barely even notice they are there which is how I wanted it doesn't mess up the look of the front.

Re: Front parking sensors on Overland?

Anyone with a 2014, 2015 or 2016 brilliant black Overland (or Altitude) willing to swap bumpers, lower fascias, lower side sills, and rocker panels (fender flares) for my High Altitude parts including front park sensors (if you want those too), let me know, I'm in Nebraska.

What makes you think that adding the front camera affects the warranty? Could it be that adding the front parking sensors - which did not come with the car - would affect the warranty?

Good luck and keep us posted.

Re: Front parking sensors on Overland?

Mopar sells a drill cutting attachment that drills perfect circles specifically for park sensor installation.

Now this and the rear camera are two of the most useful options that I have. Most of the other I never use.

Re: Front parking sensors on Overland?

Some folks are better at "naturally sensing" the boundaries of their vehicle than others, but even those with the best sense can be challenges in close quarters with the way many vehicles are shaped up front and in the back. I agree with Dallas'...rear camera and sensors are absolutely useful, both for visually seeing what's going on when backing up as well as warning of obstructions (or idiots driving too fast in parking lots) before they are visually apparent. I don't have them up front, but there have been a few cases where it might have been useful in parking lots to have them.

If the front park sense is added at the dealer and software is turned on by the dealer, how would that affect the warranty? since this is a no rush for me, I really don't want to run wires and mount a camera. I looked at the lockpick and have not decided if it would be what I wanted. I have found the bumper cover on mopar's website, the sensors are not overly expensive, the final install will be relatively simple.

Re: Front parking sensors on Overland?

Have you investigated where the wires for those sensors connect to ? Maybe you got more info than I do... At the time, I was told of an entirely new harness that connected many other components and had an extra "arm" for these sensors as opposed to the simple business of plugging a harness into a currently open socket somewhere in the engine compartment that is readily accessible.

Let me know - I would be curious to see where on my car that open socket is.
