Re: Front recovery hooks on wk2 Australian overland
From what i read Jeeps and other suvs imported from the us or U.K into Australia cannot have tow hooks installed from the factory because of an Australian( and European) law thats supposed to protect pedestrians by requiring car makers to not have anything that protrudes from the front of the vehicle, which is kind of stupid because what if you wanted to go offroading and get stuck? especially in the middle of nowhere.I believe you can order the hooks from the U.S and have an offroad shop modify the frame ends to accept them since chrysler removed the tow hook mounts from the export models.
