Front USB problems

Anyone else having probs with the front USB on their grand Cherokees...I have a 12' altitude with the 430N ...as u can see in the pic USB is plugged in put the icon is not lite to press

What is on the other end of the cable ? I have found the USB port is very low power (does not seem to meet the USB 2.0 spec) and not all devices will register.

My iPhone 5!...I have no music at all on it, I wanted to upload a pic for the back round

Yeah, I tried the same thing on my 2013 Overland. I ended up just putting pictures on a CD and loading them that way. Not sure why the USB doesn't work to do that.
