Full report from my last service appointment

Although my brethren JJeep12 had what can only be described is an awful service appointment, I must opine on my current one at Manhattan Jeep.

So, the reason for my appointment was 3 fold: factory defect on passenger door (see pics), slight thump in the right front while going over small bumps and the plastic back on the front passenger seat wasn't flush.

Upon bringing her into the service department: I signed in, did the walk around with a service guy and signed off on the exterior. While inside and talking to a different service rep (James, the guy I have dealt with every time I am there) I turn around and watch the original tech open the hood and top off the washer fluid (quite surprised and pleased with that). Even though I spoke with him on the phone and let him know why I was there, we bs'ed about that again and left.

James calls me 2 days later and says its all done and to come and pick her up. As I am walking into the service area, they had just finished wetting the car down for the wash. I was about to ask them to stop bc of the horror stories about swirl marks left etc etc, when I walked over to him and noticed that he was about to hand wash her with a microfiber hand mitt, so I threw him a few bucks to make sure that he was gentle. I let that proceed without saying anything and was really pleased at how meticulous and gentle he was with the paint. He cleaned the wheels, the tires and even the wheel well. Once it was time to dry her, instead of using a towel, he broke out a high powered compressor and blew away the excess water. He then proceeded to do a full interior vacuum, tire shine with a paint brush and even windex'ed the windows too.

Then I go inside to finalize everything and the rep told me that it was just a fitment issue with the passenger door and that even thought there was nothing visible with the drivers door, he had the tech look at it and make a small adjustment to make them both perfect. Then he proceeded to tell me about the thumping issue (which is now gone). They pulled the wheels off, tightened and lubed all the bushings, sway bar, went over the whole suspension on both sides etc etc and even checked the wear of the brakes, tires and fill the tires up to 36 PSI (cold). And finally, they put in a new passenger seat bc they didn't have a new back plate for the passenger seat, so its all fresh and new.

So, although there are horror stories out there, I must admit that these guys really do right and have absolutely no issues or concerns about bringing it back to them. They truly are a bunch of right guys and trust them with my girl.

And finally a pic of her all cleaned and ready to go.

Wow, I've NEVER had that good of an experience at a Chrysler/Jeep dealership up in my area (and I've been to three different ones).

You lucked out for sure.

LOL. Man, that really made me laugh.

Listen, I am surprised as anyone from this last trip. As far as what I knew would get done; since they had to submit pics to Chrysler for reimbursement for the work they were going to do on the door, I knew that would get fixed. As for the suspension, shit, I thought they were going to say that "they didn't hear anything" or its "normal sounds" coming from the Jeep, never expected that they would do all that stuff. As for the seat, well, thats just plain ol' surprising.

Top all that off with the detailing and I was literally like WTF? At that point, I had to give tips to a few people bc I was kinda taken back. I mean, i've had a few new cars and all had warranty work done at some point and never was I treated like this. I don't know, maybe someone got to corporate about how they were treated and they stepped up their game.

You really should have played the lotto. Because that place is terrible. lol

Hey at least you had a good experience there.

This is how ****ed up that place is. They fired EVERYONE in that service department and started fresh and they still suck. lol

I made a thread on my last experience from them a few months back. And under the old regime, I had another bad experience with them that I will tell you when we meet up at a meet or run into each other in the city.

And mind you we have bought (minus the SRT) 5 Jeeps from them. They dont treat loyal customers right.

Jeezus, maybe I should play the lotto! How long ago did they clean house? I got my rig in march of last year and did my first service a few months after that and I dealt with the same guy (James).

man, I would love to hear your story for sure.

So efing weird that I was given the golden treatment and you got the fuzzy end of the lollipop.

Must have been like a year or so ago.

The last experience my advisor wasnt James. My advisor was James when I had my water pump, rad hose, and rad fan replaced. That went smooth as silk. Maybe its him. After that smooth experience with the new people I said ok maybe I can give this place another chance, so when I had my issue with the bumpstops (same thread I made) that went south fast. It got all ****ed up IMO when I had to drop it off at 7am before work. James wasnt there and was dealt by some dude in glasses then I get calls from some guy who I thought was the service advisor that I dealt with when I dropped it off and when I get there I realized my Jeep is being handled by a different person. IDK how it got transferred from the guy I dropped it off with, to the fool that took it.

Never going there again unless its an absolute absolute emergency.

That guy is Brian. A few guys came over from Warnock Jeep in East Hanover and that guy is one of them. Never dealt with him before and maybe thats a good thing.
