But as someone pointed out, if you remove the well partitions/organization pieces, you can get an OEM 20" and Fortera in there if you want. If you're using a non-OEM tire, it might not work, however. My Nitto NT421Qs have more of a sidewall "bulge" and I doubt that would fit under the cover. I'm also one of those folks who have no desire putting money into the spare tire well since it's something that would rarely be used and isn't necessary for rotation purposes like in many years past.
The 20" tire fits in the well, but if Jeep had only made the well a few inches deeper, then you'd be able to put the cover over it and have it latch down like it should. The deeper well wouldn't get in the way offroading since the trailer hitch and rear bumper fascia are much lower.

I should of included all the pictures at once, so here is the picture with the full size 20" Fortera in the spare tire well with the two trays, closed and latched. My only explanation is that other 20 inch brand tires with similar, maybe not exact sizes, just won't fit. But a stock 20" x 8" Fortera fits. The other pictures are a side by side comparison of the stock 18" Michelin with a 1000 miles on it next to a new 20" Fortera.

I thought I read where it's not possible to put the stock 20" and GY Fortera in that well and close the lid? I don't see the 2 storage pieces in with the tire but that's ok by me.

Check post #14, it should have the picture you were looking for. Looks like the two pieces fit fine with the GY tire.
