Re: Full Tank at Purchase

I wonder if a Summit is more likely to have a full tank than a Laredo or Limited.

It really shouldn't matter if its a $60k Summit or a stripped down Dodge Dart. Any new car should have a full tank.

Oh, I agree. This topic just made me curious. I didn't even realize this was an issue because I would refuse to take delivery of a new vehicle if it wasn't topped off.

Yep, that's why I started this thread, curiosity... Would have never thought anyone took delivery of a new one and it NOT be full...

Glad to see it looks like the high majority are getting treated decently by the dealers.

Re: Full Tank at Purchase

Chrysler is the only manufacturer I'm aware of that doesn't include a tank of gas by default. It's up to the dealership. My Grand Cherokee was filled, my Wrangler wasn't.

Re: Full Tank at Purchase

New car = full tank every time. That's pretty standard. I'd demand a fill when leaving the dealership if it weren't. Used on the other hand I've seen both ways. With my wife's Toyota they filled it up, with the jeep they keep it near E and didn't fill- though I got them to give me 5 gal at least.

Re: Full Tank at Purchase

No ****ing way I'm driving off the lot in a new car without a full tank of gas. If the dealer is charging me a $1000 'destination fee' or whatever, they can spend $50 to fill up the damn tank. Gas isn't 5 bucks a gallon anymore, they can afford it.

Re: Full Tank at Purchase

It's amazing that almost all dealers charge hundreds of $$'s in "Administration Fees" and yet some won't even provide a full tank of gas.
