Re: Full Tank upon Delivery?

Mine was full. There was a line item on the factory options list "7.5 Additional Gallons of Gas".

Can recommend Central Florida Chrysler Jeep in Orlando, never an issue that wasn't quickly resolved. When I needed the infamous Pentastar head replacement they took in on Thursday morning and was ready Friday evening. Did alternator recall at the same time.

Re: Full Tank upon Delivery?

I had mine (2012 GC 5.7l) delivered with a full tank as part of my purchase contract and it was not at an additional cost from the negotiated price - a price agreed upon before I added the full tank requirement.

Re: Full Tank upon Delivery?

I was initially told by my salesman, that they only cover $20 in gas for new cars. So after a short chat with the sales manager, he had a different salesman come with me to the gas station up the street and fill up my Jeep.

This is after corporate swapped me out of my 2014 Altitude and into my current 2015 (using the same dealer non the less) that i got hassled over a tank of gas by a salesman... Unbelievable!!

Re: Full Tank upon Delivery?

I don't know if this holds true across the entire U.S. but in the state of Michigan, Chrysler will only reimburse the dealership for up to 7 1/2 gallons of gas upon the delivery of a new vehicle. This is clearly stated on all Chrysler, Michigan window stickers. My brother sold Chrysler products for a while here in Michigan when he went back to school to get another degree. He cautioned me about this when I custom ordered my new Cherokee. He said to be sure to put in the deal a full tank of gas upon delivery. He said to expect to receive some push back on that as it will come out of the dealer's profit or the salesman's pocket. He said if they want to make the sale badly enough they will eat the cost of the extra gallons of gas from the 7 1/2. At the time I ordered my new Cherokee, Chrysler was also offering Michigan dealerships a deeply discounted 4 oil change package to use as an incentive to make a sale if something extra was needed. Most Michigan customers never knew about this so never asked for it or received it. The discounted price still came out of the dealer's profit so they were reluctant to offer it unless absolutely needed to make the sale. Anyway, my new Cherokee was delivered with 4 free oil changes and a full tank of gas among some other goodies.

Re: Full Tank upon Delivery?

The Grand Cherokee was not full, just under a half tank... Like many others, this was the first time I took delivery of a vehicle that wasn't filled.

Re: Full Tank upon Delivery?

FWIW, this is what my Ohio dealer is being charged ($19 for 7.5 gals) so we'll see what it has when I pick it up. Eh, not gonna sweat the outcome.
