Re: Full Tank upon Delivery?

My Trailhawk hasn't been delivered yet, but I just looked at my build sheet and it shows "YGSA 3 Additional Gallons of Gas". I got a good deal when I ordered my car, so I will ask, but not push hard for the full tank.

If they are going to charge $995 for "destination fee" the least they can do is fill the tank IMO.

Check into having a vehicle shipped across country and see what kind of prices you get and it won't include filling your gas tank. I was told that Chrysler no longer reimburses dealers for filling gas tanks so many dealers no longer do it.

Told the same thing. I am curious as to how many people actually ask for a full tank compared to not asking.

Re: Full Tank upon Delivery?

The "Documentation Fees" the dealerships in my State charge seem to go up everytime I purchase a new vehicle...I think I paid about $300 this time around for my new Overland. Usually it includes one free state inspection sticker ($29 per year), and a full tank of gas...but my dealership gives the inspection stickers free every year to their customers as long as they own the vehicle (non-transferable), but not a full tank of gas at delivery.

I did mention to them about the full tank of gas at delivery stating that I always got one from other dealerships when buying a new vehicle...and they gave it to me.

Re: Full Tank upon Delivery?

Just picked up my JGC yesterday from the Texas group by, and he filled the tank which I was thinking he wasn't going to. I didn't even ask about it.

The dealers in Florida, specifically South Florida have "dealer fees" as high as $895. I kid you not. There is a state law apparently that if they charge one person the "dealer fee" they must charge everyone so sales people love to point that out that they can't waive it. Most people don't question it or accept the reply "It's a state law, it can't be waived". The reality is they can just reduce the price by the $895 then still charge the fee. But the sales people all talk about it with a straight face, very convincing. Oh and there are "documentation fees" too...

It would have been a much shorter trip to pay homage to Lee Iococca's famous stunt involving the first Grand Cherokee intro on that dealer's display windows. Highly satisfying, but probably you'd involve about as many police cars...

Re: Full Tank upon Delivery?

They did a very same thing with the 2007 Wrangler at the Detroit Auto Show.

Re: Full Tank upon Delivery?

I can't believe any decent dealership would deliver a new or used vehicle without a full tank. I don't care what kind of deal they may have given.
