I agree 100% with that statement. It's not everyday that someone comes in a pays 50K to 70K for a vehicle.

I totally agree.

This type of penny pinching from the dealership would not only leave a bad taste in my mouth, it would make me go somewhere else the next time I'm in the market for a new vehicle.

I agree as well... that is just ignorant.

Re: Full Tank upon Delivery?

Mine had 1/4... I tried but no luck,, i did eventually $100 from the sales guy bc he forgot to introduce me to the Service dept and they had a "motto" no introduction, we pay $100 on every new vehicle sale.

Interesting in the video to see the Grand Cherokee with an 8-slot grill.

Re: Full Tank upon Delivery?

I told my sales person I would not take it until it was full. When you pay this much for a car, especially a new car it should at least be full and get the first oil change for free. If they refuse, walk away.

The build sheet states "7.5 Additional Gallons of Gas."

The last thing the salesman did before turning over the vehicle to us (New 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland) was to fill the fuel tank.
If you don't count the handshake.

Re: Full Tank upon Delivery?

I think this is more a function of the quality of the dealership you buy from. I'm fortunate to live in an area with quite a few Jeep dealers, lots of competition so they have to distinguish themselves some way. They are not all equal. I received my new 2014 GC Overland cleaned inside and out and a full tank of gas. I also got about 45 minute briefing by the sales person on how everything worked. He sat with me in the car and went over everything I could think of...one of the best delivery experiences I've ever had to be honest.

If it wasn't a full tank I'd say it's indicative of a dealership that cuts corners and puts bottom line over customer care, or they're just not detail oriented in their delivery process. A full tank of gas in a car that retails for over $50k (assuming an Overland+) is not an unreasonable expectation.

Re: Full Tank upon Delivery?

The only time a new vehicle of mine ever came without a full tank of gas was when I bought an 82 Ford pickup.

In fact, it ran out of gas before I could get to the closest gas station... and that was only a few blocks away from the dealership. I wasn't happy about that. It also didn't help that it happened on a sub-zero morning in January.

I never bought another vehicle from that dealer since.

Re: Full Tank upon Delivery?

Took it home the first night before it was totally official and the next day they filled it completely
Every car I've bought had come with a full tank

Also bought through the Texas Group Buy
Was promised $50 reimbursement if I went and bought gas and brought him the receipt which I did. He told me he would go right up to the cashier and give them the receipt. Three days later, I got an email from him and he said that my receipt had been lost. He asked if I had a copy of it, DUH. I said that we had come directly from the gas station and handed him the receipt so no copy was possible. We had rented a car at our expense to get to the dealer. If we had taken a taxi, dealer would have reimbursed the $76 dollar cab fare from the airport. This therefore would have cost them $26 less than normal. Told him that he should look very hard for the lost receipt. Never heard another word back from him. It leaves a very sour taste in my mouth for what could have been a near perfect vehicle buying experience!
