Re: Gas milage? Post your results!

Hemi 4x4 and after 3000 miles I'm averaging just under 375 per tank in mixed driving. I took one long trip and got about 450 with about 2 gallons left in tank.

Re: Gas milage? Post your results!

I'm still on my original full tank of gas (filled by dealer), with about half left. I've driven about 220 miles and DTE is telling me 155 miles. The EVIC is telling me about 13.8 mpg, which doesn't really match the other data I'm getting from the EVIC. The mpg calculation seems to fluctuate too easily with 220 miles on it (I have not reset it). If I stomp on the gas, I will see the average go down by a tenth or two within 15 seconds. If I layoff and drive sensibly, the mpg average will creep up within a couple minutes (again, by a couple of tenths). Seems that the mpg calculation isn't since last reset... more like since last time the car was started. Is this correct?

EDIT: I have an Overland 4x4 5.7L HEMI

I noticed that on a long trip, EVIC was dead nuts to what I physically calculated, but around town it is off both up AND down by ~1mpg for two around-town fill ups. I've only got four near-tankfuls, ~88gal of fuel, through it with the first one being from the dealer. Perhaps the mpg sampling size is limited and it's continually running an average? With any vehicle computer I'd take the reading with a grain or two of salt.

Re: Gas milage? Post your results!

I'm averaging 20.1 MPG on the EVIC right now (v6, 4x4 Limited) 1500 miles in. Does the EVIC captures lifetime MPG? At what point does everyone generally start hitting their "break-in" mpg?

I have a long commute with a mix of highway, country roads and suburbs. I got up to 21.0 mid last week and expect I'll creep back up that way by mid week as weekend driving has driven it down. Overall, pleased so far.

Re: Gas milage? Post your results!

I know but most of my driving involves a lot of traffic. So I assume that is the main reason

I'm not surprised. A vehicle's weight plays alot into this. My 5.7L gives 18.5 L/100km city and 12.5L/100km on highway. (12.7 mpg / 18.8mpg US).....all based on EVIC info.

Re: Gas milage? Post your results!

My 6800 LB bread box H2 is giving me 20.5L/100km. I was hoping to cut that in half with a 3.6L Overland.
