I give up on the radio, I couldn't wait that long (Spring 2017 at the earliest which means delivered by next Summer). I wanted to Trade before my Warranty was up.

Test Drove a 2017 Summit Today and bought one. Will pick up next week. The Color I wanted is due in any day.

Red with the Two Tone Black/Brown Interior.

I didn't get near the deal I did trading in my 2014 Limited for the 2015 Overland. Considering my Overland has a frustrating Carfax Ding on it ($1200 Mirror replace that was not my fault), I did pretty good.

The new Chrome Grill on Overland and Summit is butt ugly IMHO.
2016 looked ok even though I still prefer black on all of the GC's. I will kind of miss my 2015 Overland wheels. They were SO easy to clean and always looked clean. I do like the look of the new Summit Wheels, but they don't look like fun to clean.

I think the round Tips on Dual Exhaust looked nicer on Overland than the Square tips on the Summit. The square tips look like "After Market", the round ones look like big stock pipes.

To be honest I didn't notice the difference on the Summit with Noise Canceling and Acoustic Windshield (one of the main reasons I went with Summit). But it's hard to compare and very well may be much quieter.

The HK 19 speaker Stereo is definitely better, no question, but not by as much as I was expecting. Hard to give a number but maybe 25% "better". Again hard to compare with out comparing side by side and I didn't play with settings. I was using my own Music Stick. Where are the 19 speakers by the way. I was expecting a bigger Subwoofer speaker.

The Lane Assist and Steering was Great (one of my main reasons for the upgrade).

Oh and after using the new Shifter. I agree the old 2014-2015 Shifter is BAD. I was surprised to see they left the paddle shifters on the steering wheel even though they exist on the shifter too.

I assume the Engine Start/Stop was on but I never even noticed it.

I really love the two tone, was always envious of other folks that have had it on various Trims.

I'm hoping some day down the road I might be able to drop in the Car Play version of the Radio. If it doesn't happen, no biggy. But if it's doable for a reasonable cost I will.

Hopefully I'll have it Mid Next week.

Congratulations on the new Jeep.

My Summit is in D1 status, so could still be a month away.

I mentioned in an earlier post that I think the Summit front end actually looks better with a license plate on it. There seems to be too much blank space.

Congrats! V6 right since I think the stop-start isn't on the V8?

Congrats! Isn't it matte chrome anyway on the 2017 Summit? Because I didn't like the shiny chrome prior and went with the HA. But the matte I don't mind.

It is more Matt but still more to the Chrome side.

What I don't like is the Web Has this Filler Between Each Diamond Vertically. It's just weird and makes it look cheaper. It may grow on me.

The old one was just this consistent web of Diamond shaped holes with the same thickness between diamonds vertically and horizontally. Looks more elegant.

The Grill on the older SRT that shows at the Top of the Forum is the nicest looking Jeep Grill. Black Web with Chrome Trim. Doesn't really matter what the Web holes look like when black.

Congrats, sounds like a awesome car. As far as start/stop, you'll definitely notice it. When I test drove a 2016 it didn't activate much at all on the first part of the test drive for some reason, then later it started working. It is not a seamless system so when the engine turns off and on you will know for sure. I was hoping it was a little smoother but it's not bad I guess.

I believe there are "only" 14 speaker locations in the cabin, but some of the speakers are two-way, so they are counted as two.

Just picked it up !!!

Everything looks and sounds great so far.

I want to correct my comment on the HK Radio. It is quite a bit better then the 9 Speaker setup. Both Vehicles were not in "Surround" mode. Once I enabled that it was really a big step up.

Still can't confirm the Active Noise Cancelation thing. I've seen mixed opinions on this, especially with the V6. I plan to somehow verify I'm getting what I paid for :)

Co-Workers wanted to see the Park Assist work but I couldn't figure it out. All I can think of is it will only Park between two Jeeps ;) This feature is the least of my concerns, but I am curious.

Yes, I will post some Pics.

I was looking through the pictures again. I really like the webbing in the grill (mesh maybe?) Still not a huge fan of the black but against the red it's not bad at all. I feel like it's not as noticable.

Love the interior colour. I have the same in mine!

Agree on the HK...its nice. I have it on my 2016 HA and it's now worth the $800 option (used to be over $2k so we passed on our 2013 300).

I haven't seen the Apple or Google car offerings but expect them to be underwhelming. Other than Google maps and it's amazing traffic capabilities, I think uconnect is great. It's still the best infotainment system on the market.

I agree but I'd add that the Google Music app would be nice also. I hate when I play music through my bluetooth and it has that stupid music symbol rather than display the Album cover/art. I wish Uconnect could fix that, my 2012 Regal GS showed the album art when I streamed over bluetooth.

I have seen several posts stating that the MY17 will be getting the upgrade but prior years will not because the 2017's have upgraded hardware and screens. Does that mean that the current 2017's at launch have the new hardware and are just awaiting the software update? I am looking at ordering my new 2017 summit this week but definitely want the Android Auto capability when it comes available. Does anyone know if it will just be a Uconnect Software update?

Somewhere in this discussion:

http://www.jeepgarage.org/f73/2017-grand-cherokee-features-and-changes-94463.html

Milous stated that the option designation for the new radio models will start with a
U instead of the current R. Given that the new radios also have a new screen with what
looks like higher resolution I doubt it is just a software upgrade for the current radios
being installed in 2017 Jeep.

I have had silver and gray cars for the last 12 years and thought I would go to the other extreme. My first white car ever. Still second guessing myself a little but I'm sure she will grow on me. Hated the light gray headliner the first time I saw it but didn't really mind it driving home. The light color does make the inside feel less dark and confined. I just worry about keeping it clean.

I always hated the chrome so got the Cali edition. Before she arrived, I had already started looking into wrapping the window trim and powder coating the wheels. Now that I see the brushed look, I think I'll hold off the wrap for a while. Love the white / black contrast but the Cali looks good as is. Windows tinted and clear bra applied today.

Thursday I'm getting the Bel STiR+ installed at ABT (Chicagoans know this store) and will also have a front and rear dash cam hardwired.

Only other immediate thing is to decide on which rubber mats to get and decide if to install the front plate. Rather not but know the Chicago meter maids will ticket me the first chance they get.

This is my favorite look for the luxury JGC, White California Edition. Whenever I see one on the road it makes me second guess for a minute how I ended up in a Max Steel Overland.

Congrats !!!

White looks nice, like black, when clean. My wife has a White VW CC.
If I were to get "white" again I would try the Ivory. The Ivory California combo would look real nice.

I'd think twice about the STi-R plus. Unless you plan to shut K Band off.
It's VERY chatty with Blind Spot Monitors. It's great on KA.

I had one in my 2014 Limited and 2015 Overland.
I now run a Valentine One with V1Driver iPhone App. There is also an Android App (YaV1)
Much cheaper, better balance and better situational awareness with the arrows and much quieter.
Not quite as good on Ka but good enough.

Only run STi-R plus if radar detector is illegal where you live or you don't need K-Band.
