2012 Grand Cherokee Overland, Black Forest Green with summit grill, chrome fog lamp inserts, adaptive cruise and so on...Okay...in no particular order....
I laughed at this feature, but now we love it. On hot days it seems to make the whole start of the ride a lot more comfortable. I tend to turn it off after an hour or so, but it's a great luxury feature.
Wow, I can't believe how well this works. I live in upstate NY and our roads are dark, windy and loaded with hills. The smart beams function so well I know just leave them on auto most of the time. They are not for lighted streets BTW, but use them where they're meant and perfect!
Yeah, okay, you V6 owners LOOK AWAY! My friend has a V6 Overland and he drove my new V8 version and he's trading! If you live where there are hills, do towing or lots of highway driving the Hemi is a huge upgrade for the feel of the GC. Kicking it down at 65 MPH brings on more power/speed than I expected and the Jeep is certainly capable of getting out of it's own way. If you're highway driving falls below 60% I'd stick with the V6.
Saddle Black interior!
Never fails to get ooh's & ahh's from people. The interior is a knockout.
Better than ANY luxury SUV we tested with the exception of the X5, which we thought has a slightly nicer layout (but looked cheaper).
Another feature I laughed at...wrong! The blind spot monitoring is unobtrusive and has already come in handy more than once. Like any safety feature it takes a small learning curve to make it count. The cruise control is AMAZING. Driving with a good amount of traffic the ADC is capable of safely handling throttle and will bring the car down to a near stop FAST. It's a little spooky and I will only use it for travel, but I'm impressed all the same. Adaptive cruise gets you better MPG than regular cruise.
I'm 6'3 and this GC really rocks when it comes to legroom! In fact the whole cabin is really sweet in that regard.
Air Lift/Quadra lift!
It's come in handy just once on a bad dirt road, but it's WAY cool!
VR Nav System!
Type into it and you're fine, works great. But good luck with HUGELY inaccurate voice recognition system. Even if the VR works you'll miss 3 exits by the time you get through the prompts. Getting lockpick is pretty much a requirement to get full functionality from the Nav system.
I have the dread rattle, left back corner. Not a big deal but they did not fix it on the 1st try. Their fix lasted two days. I also don't care for the thin sunshade, though I get that it's the only way given the size.
Single Stalk controls!
Yuk! There's too much going on in the single turn indicator. They really should have added a second stalk to spread out the controls for the wipers, which are a rubiks cube of settings.
Really? Does anyone use this? I guess I don't hate it, but I'm not sure what the point is.
And there you have it!
