Re: GC unlocking itself

I happen to own two 2014 of these Jeeps and have a never ending ongoing problem with this on both of them. It has happed to my wife also, just as much as myself. The Dealer just looks at me and says no one else is complaining it must be you. Thisiis the same down to the 3 beeps. I think the 3 beeps mean "got you suckerr".

Re: GC unlocking itself

[QUOTE=banjonut;823362]Yesterday, I had this problem 3 times. (2014 GC Overland). I parked, shut off the engine, opened the drivers door, locked the doors using the inside door lock button, shut the door. Then, I walked around the front of the vehicle and the horn sounded 3 times and the doors unlocked. If I had been preoccupied, I might have walked off with the doors unlocked. Sounds like the vehicle thinks I left the fob inside. Anyone got any ideas?[/QUOTE

That happens to me when I lock the door on the door panel if I'm not fully out of the vehicle. I have a habit of locking the door while still seated just before getting out and it will do what you described. If you lock it when you are out of the vehicle it shouldn't happen. Have also had the problem about the door unlocking while washing vehicle if keyfob is in my pocket.

Same thing mine does same way. Doesn't do it all the time. I switched to locking after getting out. I use a carabiner attached to belt loop. Hate having key in pocket.

Re: GC unlocking itself

My 2013 does it almost daily as I sit next to it with the fob in my pocket. And no, it's not being pressed. Doesn't matter if I lock it with the inside button, outside button or by pressing the fob button.
