They might. The original GC was fairly heavily tromped on by Consumer Reports. Far moreso than the new one.

There was a quick interview in yesterday's WSJ where the president of Chrysler/Fiat indicated that he would like to make the GC a true luxery SUV to compete with Range Rover and move the new Cherokee up market.

Nope just a lot of small ones :-)

The platform is good, now need to clean up all the kinks. From electrical to welding under the wheel wells, everything needs to be perfect.

They need to significantly improve vehicle quality (including the interior) and significantly improve their dealer network.

And they need to charge 2x the price.

As for dealer network, if you're talking about adding dealers, I must be lucky in that I have 1 dealer 4 miles away, and 2 more 20 miles away.

I am not talking about quantity of dealers, it's more about the dealers providing a more premium level of service.

If they really want to compete with luxury marques with Jeep they need to do this I agree...

I agree with a few things in the interior....but IMHO its already ahead of the RR, cayenne etc. with their multitude of confusing 1970's NASA buttons for EVERY little operation/option. I think the integration of some of the hard button functions on the RA4 was/is awesome. I don't even use the hard buttons. I just tell my RA4 what to do using voice or touchscreen. Much better than a multitude of confusing hard buttons. I would like to see the painted trim surfaces go aluminum...wood...steel...cf whatever. I agree it would be much nicer....but way more expensive.

Really for the exterior....they just need to tighten up QC or add an extra QC area. Misaligned body panels they cant easily be rectified are inexcusable. The body shop also needs a qc/corrections area expanded.

If they plan on moving the GC more upmarket then Jeep definitely needs to get on the ball with dealerships, fit, finish and quality. I love my Grand but if they plan on moving it upmarket then there are definitely some things they could work on. Until that happens, Jeep is still in a league of its own and I'm happy with that.

Granite Crystal Metallic. May not have the Jeep, but I'll still drop in and keep up with the news.
