Wait what? I agree it'd be more convenient but everything about the GC is more up to date than the Ram. And the GC is a newer vehicle the Ram. So it's kind of interesting that you feel the GC is lacking.

I like dedicated buttons what can I say. Scrolling through the infotainment system is kind of a pain. Also the ram has an awesome cell phone holder. I'd like to see one on the next GC instead of having to buy a holder that clips to the Vents.

Re: GC Wish List

At least they put a little thought into the heated steering wheel, heated and cooled seats functions by creating a category for them on the uConnect. The memory seat buttons are like an after thought lol they are cheaply placed on the door (same place from the WK, which looked cheap then) and they don't even light up!

I personally agree with the idea of physical seat and steering wheel heat controls.

When I'm in the entertainment menu and want just a bit of heat when it's just over the threshold for the auto controls to come on (or want to turn them off when I get too warm), I don't want to have to click into another menu that requires more time with my eyes off the road than necessary.

A hard button can be clicked almost without even looking at it.

They include a big knob for manual heat/cooling. They should have a trio of little buttons near it for seat and steering wheel heaters/coolers.

Re: GC Wish List

Smaller rear view mirror, or at least one that adjusts upward so that I can push it up against the ceiling. That beast is in the way, especially on rising cloverleaf exits it blocks the roadway from view almost entirely.

With rear cams starting to become mostly standard on new vehicles, I foresee a day when the mirror is replaced by a heads-up display projected on the windshield.

The only reason the mirror is that big is to cover the field of view. A camera output display can do that with a much smaller screen and a heads up style can be semi-transparent. They could even make it turn solid when you turn your turn signal on.

Eliminating the mirror would also eliminate glare from reflected headlights without having to resort to mirror darkening.

i have to say that my MY14 Cayenne is just that. All HVAC adj. are hard buttons on both sides of the console. It is very well laid out. I like how clean the look is on the GC . It's difficult to have it all.On one hand you want clean looking and on the other functional without being too busy or distracting .
The heated steering wheel button is just behind the center spoke above the lower part of the wheel @six o clock . Without ownership you would not know it was there . Except by your own mistake.
I have to say that I just bought this rig and just don't see it staying around that long. Long term upkeep gives me pause. I'm old school on some things. I like to check my oil and there is no dipstick on this vehicle. You ck. the oil level on the DIC. I 've read that there are other vehicles like that (BMW) . I'm wait for the summer of 16 to see. I'll continue to hang around here and learn.

Re: GC Wish List

I just thought of something else to add. Integrated sunblinds that retract back into the rear passenger doors.
It was available on BMW E38s (7-Series) since 1995, and even the KIA Sorento offers them. They aren't complicated either.

I too have that feature on the Cayenne. It is nice to have when you're headed North or South at full sun. Just pull up on the power window switch.
I could take it or leave it. Maybe they could offer it as an option on all models though. It might be that it is being saved for the top of the line Grand Cherokee Wagon in MY19

Re: GC Wish List

I don't understand why they haven't incorporated electrostatic glass into more cars for front windows. It's not that expensive anymore.

This way, people could have mega-dark tints during the day when you can still see through them a little, but they could go lighter at night.
