Getting Overland # 2!

So the story goes like this....

I really love the black summit. I could not find one anywhere here in Portland or the entire NW for that matter. I order mine and begin the long wait. A few weeks into the wait, my wife's 10 year old Ford finally gives up the ghost! I just am able to drive it to the jeep dealer and they have a white Overland with the light tan interior. It is not the summit with the Saddle, but what the hell. I buy it and love it. Now I see that my long awaited black summit is screaming through Wyoming and I think I may just buy this one as well. The fight is now who drives the white Overland and who gets the black Summit.

Dumb to have two 2011 GC? I already called to see if the dealer would do me a solid on a trade for the white one with 1100 miles on it.... Guess what their answer was?

Re: Getting Overland # 2!

I am betting their answer was a resounding YES, and would you like 10k back on top? oh, what, that wasn't their response?

I did see a 2011 JGC with full saddle interior on the lot the other day that saddle is so eye catching! I think you would be more happy buying both of them

Re: Getting Overland # 2!

Oh what the heck, just get 3 while you're at it!

Are you buying both from the same dealer? May I ask which one in PDX and how long your wait has been so far for the Summit? I'll be placing an order for an V6 Overland this weekend myself and would like to know what to expect.

TIA!

There have been a few, but I'm being picky since I've got time on my side...not too many of 'em out there with 730N RHR, ACC, and frost int.

Believe me, I'm tempted but I drive a lot of city miles and I'm trying to be sensible for once...we'll see if that holds out

From what I can tell there is a noticeable MPG diff for heavy stop and go city driving. For high-speed highway cruising I think the difference really drops off and the Hemi does extremely well. I routinely get around 21 with my Hemi cruising at 82MPH. I honestly believe that the V6 wouldn't do any better at that speed. The Hemi does do pretty badly in city stop and go driving though, but it's worth it too me, I can see getting the V6 if you do a ton of city driving.

Re: Getting Overland # 2!

I dont think the Hemi does poorly in city driving. Sure it gets 12-13 in stop and go, but what do you expect for a 5000+ lb vehicle with a 5.7L V8? 12-13 is what I would expect no doubt.

That wasn't me, but I bought a (red!) Overland in the Portland area. I got it from the dealer in Wilsonville, with whom I was delighted. Highly recommended. A dealer elsewhere in town tried to pull some shenanigans.
