Gift from Chrysler (sorta)

I got my CG in January and being the only driver with no kids spending time in the back seat has not been on the to do list. I put a blanket down on the rear bench for the dog (his maiden trip in the Jeep) and low and behold, stuck between two seats was an extra flashlight.

Once charged it worked perfectly. Now the question is: how do I keep it charged when it's not in the charge port?

Re: Gift from Chrysler (sorta)

You'll probably just have to alternate in the charger built in. While the built in flashlight is nice, it is very low lumens which is why I use my iPhone as a flashlight instead as that steady on flash is very bright and is more then adequate in most situations where you don't have a stand alone flashlight.

Look for more goodies! In past vehicles I have found a nice box wrench, a retractable razor knife and in a past Nissan, powdered milk packets all in Japanese.

Re: Gift from Chrysler (sorta)

My brother-in-laws dad had a pop bottle inserted in the driver's door of his 1976 Ford pickup at the factory.

The thing rattled and the dealer could never solve the problem. Later he was broad sided and the auto body shop repaired the door and found the bottle.

Duh! Buy another Jeep.

I think most agree that the light isn't worth keeping charged. Any of the free Harbor Freight lights throw more light.

Some car show rumor humor !

One guy had a new ply. duster and after weeks of noise he pulled out the rear seat to find a coke bottle that was rolling around.

Another owner removed the rear seat to find a bag full of junk with a note "this makes a lot of f ing noise doesn't it"

Re: Gift from Chrysler (sorta)

Many years ago I took my friend's 1956 Lincoln for a short drive. He said there was a rattle in the passenger front door. We removed the door card and found an old baseball. Unlikely from the factory though as that would have been a new baseball.

Dealer has to program it, but it also needs to be a 'virgin' fob...they can only be programmed once. And yes, they charge a fee for this...

Local locksmiths have the equipment to program FOB's and do it for a fraction of what Chrysler charges.

They use a code reader to get the factory key code from the on board computer and then program the FOB to match.
