Fixed in the latest firmware, if I'm not mistaken.

I hadn't thought about the "if it's stolen" situation, but I'm not overly worried about it since there are other things in the car that have the home address on them. There's no garage door programed in our vehicles because they don't go in the garage...which is detached, only holds the Kubota, ZTR and bins of hay and sawdust for the guinea pigs. And is on the alarm system.

Kinda no different than getting one's wallet stolen, honestly...

How do I get the latest firmware installed. My 730 will hold my home address for about two weeks and then it vanishes. Of course, when I talk to my service advisor, he says he's never heard of the problem and knows of no fix and no software update.

No user error. It will hold my home address for a couple of weeks. Then, randomly, I'll hit "guide me home" and my home address is gone.

I call "dumb luck" that you got one that works properly.

Re: Going Home on Nav

I set my home address to be in the middle of the ocean. I figure if they're dumb enough to be stealing cars they'll fall for my trap.

Not really. Just the maps for my city are terrible and it won't take you to right where I live anyways. I set it for the closest major intersection, and figure I can make it home from there. I only get lost in the last minute or two every 2 or 3 trips back home or so.

Again, just kidding. I am completely capable of finding my way home once in the general vicinity.

There is a TSB for the firmware (2.126) and every dealer has several DVDs in their service department to take care of it. You can also download and install it via the instructions SOX has posted here in the Audio/Nav forum areas up at the top of this forum. Your service advisor needs to do a little quality bathroom reading...
