I strongly believe there was a significant step forward in August and later. You can always still get a lemon at any time.
Newer Radios, No bogus ABS module that causes XMAS Tree, Newer ACC that can do Stop/Go in builds after late July/Early August.
Incremental improvements in hatch alignment, tail light alignment, bowed hatch handle etc. since August.
Get as late a build as you can, but avoid July and older.
I was at dealer in September and almost every one the lot had the bowed handle. Was there yesterday and I couldn't find one.
Tail lights are still tight on the right, almost every time.
I think the N58 Recall (Xmas Tree) is a Software Hack so as they don't have to replace the expensive ABS module that is the root of the problem.
That's why it took 3 months to get a software fix even AFTER the problem was addressed in August on new builds. It's not that they had new firmware, they had new ABS Modules in August and still trying to figure out a hack to get around it.
I squeaked by with August 10 build.
Truck is pretty near perfect with latest transmission firmware, radio firmware. Which is the only thing that I've needed done. Except Bowed handle, not fixed yet.
$43K group buy makes more sense than the B.S. quotes of $40K.
