Re: Good Job Dealership

I hate dealerships! I took my car in for an oil change and a warranty issue with my glass and they parked my new car next to a POS old Dodge Durango with a differential issue. When I picked it up, it reaked of it! I was pissed! Thankfully the smell went away but my new car smell is gone. I'm still fighting with Chrysler and that dealer on how to rectify their idiocy!

Re: Good Job Dealership

Its stuff like that on why i change my own oil. When I was a kid I had a jiffy lube do my little civic. Drove around for months without a cap on the head. From then on I leanred and changed my own oil. When I go get my '14, I will take a discount over oil changes.

Re: Good Job Dealership

i would've stopped right there, made the dealer tow it back to fix it and document what happened for potential long-term problems maybe. Plus call corp to have it documented too.

Re: Good Job Dealership

Should have left it dry and towed it in. At that point you demand a free extended warranty.

Re: Good Job Dealership

Thinking more. I would have cash for clunkered it and rev'd it till she blew. Not sure I would want to own a car long term that ran dry of oil.

Since that program expired like 3 years ago it wouldn't have worked out so well for you...

Re: Good Job Dealership

Motors without oil will still fail. Program or not.

Cash for Clunkers gave you $4500, I believe. I'd be willing to help you out & give you $4500 for the vehicle. In fact, feeling generous - let's make it $5 grand.

Re: Good Job Dealership

I'm using "cash for clunkers" as a verb in my post; the act of purposely blowing a motor.

Re: Good Job Dealership

I had a similar experience with my dealership. I was given my "first oil change for free".... Big mistake. After a month or so I notice oil under my Jeep in my garage, open the hood- oil everywhere. I take it to my local shop near my work and the oil filter was loose and fortunately only a quart low on oil.
Never again.
