Re: Good lease deal on 2016 Overland?

Considering when I was looking at leasing a HA that was 50k, with 6k down payments were $550/mo 😮 for 10k miles/yr...I wouldn't say you're In mid $600 territory ... I just ended up buying a used overland

What money factor are they using and what residual? Is the leasing company Chrysler Capital or someone different? Once you get these figures you can cross check them via leasing forums and you can plug them into a lease calculator and look at your numbers from there. Also I would negotiate down from MSRP to lower your payment, just because you are leasing doesn't mean you can't negotiate like you are purchasing.

Re: Good lease deal on 2016 Overland?

Don't quote me on this as it's just quickly off the top of my head...

Traded in my leased 14 Overland for a 16 HA. Same lease term... 36 mo / 15000 yr, through Chrysler Capital.

$51680 MSRP
$1934 affiliate discount
$2000 lease bonus cash
$6213 positive trade equity (trade in - buyout price) < came back and edited this
49% residual
MF and adjusted capitalized cost - don't have these figures handy at the moment

Monthly payment with tax = $528.32 (previous lease payment was $500.00)

Did you put a big down payment on your 2014 lease to achieve that much positive equity?

I traded my 02 in on the 14... they gave me $4500 for it.

On the 16 HA they gave me $31000 on the 14. The full term lease buyout would have been $23495. I still had 2 months left on that lease, so that and the ever present fees left me with the $6213 positive equity.

Got it, you made a big cap cost reduction on the lease to have lower monthly payments I am assuming?
Interested how the numbers would look if you financed instead of leasing, you would probably have more equity since there are no fees associated with the lease.

I looked at financing but the payments were a lot higher than I wanted to make. To get that monthly in line would've required trading in my Accord as well. I didn't want to do that.

Re: Good lease deal on 2016 Overland?

I'm paying more in payments now so I'm not upside down in 2-3 years. I also leased because I know this GC will have plenty of expensive technology problems after warranty is up.
