Echo what Jeverall said -- I put Optimum Gloss Coat on my new GC last week and I've noticed the same "dirt falling off" phenomenon mentioned.

Thanks for the reply, and thats a great looking ride. I have cilajet being applied tomorrow. I am a little suspect on how long it will last but we will see.

Does this stuff really cost as much as is outlined here?

$1200 ?? im sure that's a great product but I feel like iam missing something here? I typically keep a car 10 years it goes through a premium car wash about once a month (sometimes more depending on road salt in winter) and it gets a hand wax by that same car wash once a year for about 50 bucks, car sits in the sun in an open parking lot at work everyday, it gets plenty of sun and road salt. The paint on my last two cars has looked nearly the same the day I bought it as the day I got rid of it ten years later. I just don't see paint going to pieces or rust now a days like it used to back in the 70s and 80s. So is this type stuff meant for if you plan to keep your car through the next ice age? or is it more just for a deeper shine look? im not downing the product im sure its great but what can make it worth that much on todays paint?

I'm thinking the same thing. Hell, I used to think "PolyGlycoat" was a rip off back in the late 70's and early 80's. And it was barely $100.00 bucks.

Re: Got a High Altitude V6 overnight. Compare to Summit V8.

Mine did not cost that much, and it may not be worth it for everyone. My Jeep is Black, and shows dirt very easily. I have little desire or time to detail it myself. I also would not take it to any drive through car wash. I was probably spending an average of $50/month getting it hand washed. Between that, and a decent wax job 1-2 times a year, the opti-coat for me will pay for itself after a year. Plus, after having it for about 2 weeks now, and driving it daily, it still looks as if I just waxed it. My wife's SUV is white, we can go months without washing it, and it still looks decent. So I wouldn't invest the money on something like this for her vehicle.

So, if your vehicle doesn't show dirt easily, &/or you don't mind washing it and waxing it yourself, than you might consider this a waste of $$.

I had the Cilajet applied yesterday, it looks great my application which included exterior and an interior stain treatment was $850. I will keep everyone posted on how long it lasts. Pics attached
