Re: Got mine today!

Ok, finally got the proof. First though, some general comments about a day with the car. It is QUIET! My previous SUV was an 08 GC 3.7 Laredo. I think the ride iteself is comparable, not a huge difference in pure comfort. I liked the comfort in the front seats in the old car, the back was another story. The ridequality for back seat drivers is impeccable in the new car. After a day I can't see any drawbacks or kinks. The remote starting function is cool but not sure what it is really for. Just don't seem to be able to figure out the use case. The panoramic sunroof is great. The bugshield will probably not sustain more than 2-3 years of open/close but who knows. Did I say the ride was quiet? Another great think is the thick thick stearing wheel! Very nice. What else...hm...well, I need to figure out how to be able to watch movies while in Drive mode and not only Parked. I'm sure my codriver will want to check out the latest flicks on longer road trips.
Only mods I could think of, after ONE day is...sorry, can't think of anything just yet.
Sorry, the pics are in the zip, I was not able to get them viewable in the forum, trust me I tried. Obviously something wrong with me.

Re: Got mine today!

Very nice.

Not sure where you are located, but here in the Northeast I'll give you two reasons why remote start is key:

1. Very hot days
2. Very cold days

Nothing like leaving your ac or heater on high from the night before or when you head into the office and remotely starting the vehicle and getting the inside nice and cozy. Remote start is a must here.

Re: Got mine today!

I'm in the NorthWest. I think I get the idea with hot summer days. However, having lived in Scandinavia for 35 years makes me think twice about cold starting any car without a proper engine heater first, then remote starting perhaps? Seems you need to be pretty close to the car though, about 25 feet.

Nothing wrong with remote starting in the cold Gotta start it somehow

The distance....I have it on my 08 Laredo and it starts for me upwards of 25 yards at times. Although, 25 feet is plenty as long as you are in doors in a climate controlled home/office

Re: Got mine today!

thanks! The V6 is excellent. The V8 was $1k more but did not have the sunroof, but had the QTII and tow package. Otherwize identical in color combo. Test drove it ofcourse. It was nicer in many ways. But, in the end, I'm kinda of a techno geek and like new engines in particular. The HEMI had the grunt, the power, but also the gasmilage and sorry to say somewhat dated technology (please don't slam me for this). So, in the end I went for the V6. It is performant, don't feel any lack of power.
