Re: Got mine today!

Congrats - hope you enjoy many years of use.

What I have found I like about the remote start is that when you use it to crank the Jeep, the climate control goes to full blast to either heat or cool the interior until you put the key in the ignition. Not sure how it knows which one to use - either by internal/ external temperature or by whatever it is set at when you left it last, but when it is 100+ inside the vehicle, it sure is nice to already have it started cooling by the time you enter it.

Dealer down the street from work just got two 2011's in - might have to spend a lunch break down there soon.

Re: Got mine today!

I'm finally getting the hang of the remote start, it is actually a really nice feature. It seems to be working off of the current temp. Just don't want my kids to accidentally press the button on the remote and have my cat die in the garage of carbon monoxide poisoning:-). I also had a chat with the boys at Lockpick today who claimed that their v3 would work just fine on the the 2011. SO, I'll investigate that a bit further and report back.
Btw, my wife has been pulling the trunk lever twice thinking that she disengaged the parking brake:-). She couln't figure out why the car was so slow...actually I think we will see a few of those mistakes. Engaging/disengaging is by pressing the same parking brake pedal.

Re: Got mine today!

Those are by far the best Laredo wheels on a GC to date. Congrats on the new jeep.

What are you trying to figure out with the remote start? You press the button 2 times to start it. Or you just have the key in your pocket and press the button and brake pedal if it has push button start.

If your kids do manage to hit the remote start accidently the Jeep will shut down after a certain time period unless an intentional start up is made manually in the Jeep by either key or puh button start. The Jeep simply wont run for hours and hours on end. I think the remote start timeout is around 15 minutes but I am not sure dont quote me on that number.

Re: Got mine today!

Most remote start systems kill the engine after 15mins. Some are programmable.

Is your 2WD or 4x4?
