The sport button that is now on the center stack actually changes the engine and shifting dynamics to make it feel faster and sportier (quicker throttle response, holding gears longer before upshifts, etc.).

And on the tire front, I plan on getting my dealer to swap out the OEM Bridgestones for a set of Michelin Defender LTX. I'm hoping they'll give me a fair trade on the unused Bridgestones so my out of pocket cost on the swap will be well under $500. FYI, not much in the way of AT tires available in the stock 265/50-20 size.

The Defender LTX is the newest version of the original LTX...arguably one of the best street/all season/mild AT tires ever made.

Info here: Michelin Defender LTX M/S
Agree with you Driver Dave the Defenders are going to be my next tire on my Grand Cherokee also, I have been waiting for them to come out in the 265/50R20 size. They are the best all season on road tire with a slant towards off road. You can certainly buy better dedicated AT tires, Terra Grapplers would be my favorite in that category and this size. But for one that is smooth, very quiet and has good on road manors and gives you ok mild to medium off road ability and does decent in snow for not being a snow tire the Defenders cant be beat. Its a great all around tire to leave on year round. There are better purpose built tires but the defender does a good job of tying a little bit of everything together into one tire. Currently #1 out of 36 in its highway all season category on tirerack.

Re: Got my 2016 today!!

My original thought, a few weeks ago, was to put Blizzak DMV2 snow tires on the stock 20" wheels and pick up a set of 18" aftermarket wheels with a good AT tire...either the Revo 2 or Hankook Dynapro ATM (didn't know about the Nitto's at that time). But that would be a large chunk of change to shell out on a vehicle I've never even driven, so I decided to just go with the small upgrade of the LTX to run year round.

The 3.6L start/stop feature can be disabled by a button on the dash. You'll have to do this at every start up.

Re: Got my 2016 today!!

If you look at some of the reviews on the above posted Bridgestone link, this tire doesn't sound much better than the Fortera's they're replacing. People seem to have the same complaints that you read out here. Time will tell, I guess.

It's still a mild tread street tire on a Jeep...

Looks like the button to turn off collision mitigation is gone, wonder where they moved that to?

Maybe this illustration is from a model that doesn't have that feature? You'll find inaccuracies like that scattered throughout the owners manual.

one thing I always try to do on the reviews is sift through them to find someone running the tires on the same vehicle and same size as mine because a great tire in the 225/55R17(or whatever) on a lite weight vehicle can be a rotten tire in the 265/50R20 on a porky vehicle. Not saying that is a case here but just something to look for when comparing. I'm biased towards Michelin though every time I have ever strayed away from Michelin I have been sorry fortunately Michelin has two offerings in the 265/50R20.

Silvermax, you're right. Their Michelin LATITUDE Tour. I just went out in the garage and looked. I knew they were "Tude" something or other.

Re: Got my 2016 today!!

I actually like the new shiftier but having the sport mode button on the dash????? Is that a screw up or what??? I use sport mode on the fly for passing etc. Who the heck wants to look down (taking eyes off road) to engage Sport mode. What were they thinking......

Everyone with a MY11-13 has to switch to Sport Mode using the SelectTerrain knob...the MY16 just returns to that method.
