Re: Got rear ended, lousy body shop issues...

After my parking garage decided to shave some weight off of my rig I went my own route. They wanted me to take it to their garage to have the work done and I told them to GTFO. Just bc you park my garage doesn't mean you tell me where to go to get it fixed after you damage it. I have a local garage that my family (for better or worse) have been going to for a loooong time. Solid work, great turnaround time and great price. They also give you a small bottle of matching paint just in case of any rock splashes etc etc.

On another note, sorry to hear about the accident. Thank your stars you're ok, and it will get fixed.

It's up to the insurance company to decide if you get OE or aftermarket. They are paying the bill and have lobbied the political machine to have it this way, in MA anyways.
Most times the shop has to install the aftermarket junk to show it doesn't fit right before a adjuster will sign off on OE unless the vehicle is new or under so many miles.

Unless you are paying for the OEM parts endorsement.

I have never seen that on a policy before. I will have to ask my agent if it's an option.

Re: Got rear ended, lousy body shop issues...

If you are not careful you may get parts made in China errrrr.

BTW if any work is done on the tailgate check that all of the grommets on the top are properly in place else it will leak. See here.
