If hit hard enough the drawbar and ball is going through the front end of the car that hit you. Your bumper will have plenty of opportunity to absorb the impact if needed. Let it protect you from the low speed impacts.

Re: Got rear ended today...

Got all the info from the guy and told him to wait to hear from me after I took it to the body shop.. Monday I'll get the verdict.. But after doing my own inspection im not worried. Good to have the experts take a look though!

Ruby's what I call her since she's inferno red.. Betty is my black TJ..

Backup sensors are a go! Had the wifey give me a strip dance in the garage while walking around the rear.. Got to watch through the rearview cam!

Re: Got rear ended today...

So is there really invisible damage for the people who have previously been rear ended and in turn had no physical cosmetic damage? How can your bumper not even be cracked/scratched or in any way touched on the outside but the body shop finds 3500 dollars worth of repairs? It sounds like the body shops will do anything to get work now adays.. I'd understand if the foam etc is all broken in the bumper and you now need a new bumper, but even then 3500 for a new bumper? lol All you have to do is pay your deductible so it doesn't hurt us, it hurts the insurance companies which then hurt us with premiums!

Re: Got rear ended today...

Similar story here:

No damage to my Jeep, but left a nice DIE-CUT imprint of the receiver in his bumper.

A coworker of mine does the same thing. He got rear ended at a drive through. The car didn't touch his but that drawbar and ball went right through their pumper and grill.

Re: Got rear ended today...

Nice that there are active headrests, too. Lawyer jokes aside, whiplash is no walk in the park as many an NFL guy can attest, and the injury just gets worse as the years go by.

To save a buck, most manufacturers make do with passive headrests that tilt forward to provide decent protection. Women hate 'em cuz they muss up their hair. Ditto the Donald, too.

One more fist bump for the WK2!
