Very interested in pulling the trigger on this. Couple questions. Does the Tazer have to stay in the vehicle for it to work or can it be installed and pulled out? I am curious if anyone has used the 2wd function and seen an increase in gas mileage. Also, I have the GDE tune on my ecodiesel, would this do anything to that tune? Also does the SRT page have the 0-60 times and does it all work? Thanks guys!

The Tazer must be plugged in for Nav in Motion and Line Lock (running menu items).

It can be removed after setting gauges, DRL drop, etc (non-motion menu items).

It does have the SRT performance pages on the EVIC - and they do work (although I haven't really had a chance to make some good 0-60 or 1/4 mile times - I think 0-60 was right at 8 seconds for my 3.6)

Re: Got the Tazer, now what?

Anyone with Tazer and set to SRT pages - have you tried adjusting the terrain control?

Do you get the standard pages (Snow/Sand/Auto/Mud/Rock), or SRT set (Track/Sport/Auto/Snow/Tow)?

Interesting. I changed that once since I bought the car. Always kept it on Auto. I'll have to go try it out during my lunch.

Re: Got the Tazer, now what?

I have the gauge sets enabled as well. Mine is apparently on drugs.
Snow = track
Mud = snow

Re: Got the Tazer, now what?

I just tried switching the different drive modes on my summit. The following happens:

SNOW = TRACK. Air suspension changes, and I get an ICON on the upper left hand corner with the green flag and the word "TRACK". Also, the headlights turn on probably because you need your headlights on at the track.

SAND = SPORT. Again, air suspension changes (not sure exactly how). Also, the ESP turns off. Green flag on upper left hand corner with the word "SPORT"

AUTO = AUTO

MUD = SNOW

ROCK = TOW

If anyone knows any further information on this, I would love to know more.

Re: Got the Tazer, now what?

I wonder if the 'mappings' really do anything meaningful - or if it's just to make us think it does it's magic.

Could maybe swap the labels out for the SRT pack - seems like the right buttons still raise & lower the suspension - sadly, no launch control

The SRT set is missing the lockout N button for 4Low so it wouldn't be a full permanent replacement

So your confirming that you hit the 4WD LOW button and no option to launch the car? I would assume that if the knob dial works, perhaps the 4WD LOW setting will give you the option to LAUNCH.

Re: Got the Tazer, now what?

So I just stepped out the office to try this and unfortunetly no go on the launch control. Maybe the guys that make the tazer might have an update for this later down the road.

While trying this, I think the car has to be in TRACK mode in order for it to work, then you press LAUNCH to activate it. So I did just that, put it in SNOW - and press 4WD LOW....but nothing. When i press 4wd, the screen just go blank for 4 seconds then goes back to what it looked like before.

I also noticed that when I put it on track, it puts the gear in 2nd (D2). Obviously, the visuals on the screen are showing SRT, but car is trying to behave like a normal summit.

I also noticed that I can not put the car in the ROCK setting. Doesn't go into it all which renders the 4WD LOW butting useless since that's how you activate it.

Re: Got the Tazer, now what?

I do not have the Tazer yet but will soon. Spoke with them directly on functionality to confirm some features like this beyond the RWD I am buying it for.

What I learned from them was that it cannot give you physical features if the truck does not have the capability. For example, the Summit does not have the required adaptive suspension that it needs to have a track mode and launch mode. Likewise, my '15 SRT can't get the '16 custom drive modes as they require full e-steering and I have the hydraulic assist so that's a nogo for me, etc...another physical difference is the single-speed transfer case on SRT so there is no 4lo....still a very neat device just depends if the usable feature set makes sense for the buyer based on the uplift they get on their particular truck...for me RWD for tire "going away" parties and the motion nav lockout defeat are all I need to justify my $250....

hope this helps some...

Re: Got the Tazer, now what?

Someone mentioned on the forum about leaving a ghosted image on the ECM....even after putting all the settings back to normal on the Tazer, will that still leave a marking on the computer that will be shown to the techs in the dept?

Re: Got the Tazer, now what?

When I brought my jeep in for an oil change they hooked up to the obd port. No one said anything to me about a ghosted image or anything looking incorrect. I didn't even bother to change the fog drop out or turn signal drop out settings back to normal. I just removed the Tazer.

That's not a definitive answer that it doesn't, just my one experience.
