Re: grand cherokee 2014

Mine is 2013 Oct build I believe I've had two transmission updates so it shifts fine. Recall on the U connect hacking and shiftier update. 30,000 miles no problems but do have lifetime Maxicare.

Re: grand cherokee 2014

My '14 Limited was delivered in May of '13. One of the first '14 builds. Have not had one serious problem so far. The rough downshift to 2nd and 1st was cured by the 2 TSB's for that problem. Had the TSB for the uConnect security and a couple of other uConnect upgrades, but nothing I would consider a real issue. I did buy the MaxCare Lifetime service contract just in case.

Re: grand cherokee 2014

I have an April 2013 build in the Overland flavor with no serious problems. The worst was a blown rear shock last fall, but the lifetime extended warranty took care of it.

Re: grand cherokee 2014

I had a 2014 Overland that was built in July of 2014. I had zero problems with it. But I believe I got about 6 or 7 recall notices from Jeep. None seemed to serious to have done. So with agreement from my Jeep dealer, none were applied until I traded it on my new 2017 Summit last November. So I would check with a Jeep dealer to verify if all the updates were completed. They should have access to tell you which were installed and when they were done. Bottom line is I had zero troubles with my 2014. Al

Re: grand cherokee 2014

I have a May 14 built Laredo E with 70,000 miles on it and no issues.
Took care of the recalls at the dealer and have done all the oil changes and scheduled services done by the dealer...

Love this thing!

Re: grand cherokee 2014

I bought my 14 Overland earlier this year and it seems to be a early build I think. Anyways I have the transmission issue and it shifts rough and harsh coming to a stop. Shifting from 6-5 and 5-4 is the worst. Dealer kept it for 7 days and did multiple flashes/ relearns but nothing has helped. So I'm trading it in. Hopefully yours is problem free so you can enjoy it. I got a killer deal on my 14 Overland and it pains me to get rid of it for a less optioned 17 Altitude but I can't stand the transmission issues anymore. Plus last week on my way home from work, I tried to speed up on the freeway and my Jeep wouldn't want to speed up. Almost like I had it in Neutral but the RPM weren't shooting up either. Pulled over to the side of the freeway and turned it off. Turned it back on and it drove a bit more normal but that was the final straw. It's good bye time for the 14 for me.

Hey Rony,

I just did the same thing as you and purchased the 2014 GC limited 4x4...although mine is givine me issues the locks were not working and then the power shut off on the highway. They are replacing the BCM and hopefully it does the trick. Did anyone else have this issue and had it fixed?

did they give you a good deal on the trade since it had all of the issues...I am thinking of doing the same thing and just getting a new wrangler.

The Jeep dealer I traded it into test drove it and everything and they didn't say anything to me. Plus my carfax didn't show any of the dealer visits as repairs/ issues. It stated them as vehicle serviced. So it looked good on my carfax report when the dealer pulled the report when valuing my car. They had no idea. Plus it's not like I was going to mention anything to them. I got my 2014 Overland for a steal when I bought it in January so I didn't get raped at time of trade in earlier this month. I had bought it for $26,800 plus TTL with 34,074 miles on it and I got $25,750 plus tax credit of $1,609.38 towards the new one. I only took a small hit, thank god! I did drive it for about 3 months and added close to 5k miles on it. Not bad if you ask me.

Btw I'd wait for the new wranglers coming out soon. The JL looks like it will be great! I may pick one up myself in a a year or two after they come out.

In addition to the carfax any Jeep dealership in the world can pull up the service records of any Jeep anywhere in the world with the VIN if serviced at a Jeep dealer. They may not want to tell you that but they can do it.

Your right! That is true. My salesman took my trade to get appraised by the new car sales manager instead of the preowned manager so I don't think he checked the service history but who knows. They never said anything to me and credit union called to tell me that my trades been paid off by them already so it's not like there's any going back on their part.
