These cars can be started with the new technology thieves have available to them. There was a news video a while back where they showed how just walking through a parking lot you could open and start car after car.

As for towing; Did you ever see a flatbed picking up a car in a mall parking lot? If so, did you stop and ask them who and where the owner was?

All the security protects you from kids who want to joy ride. Nothing stops a professional thief. Unless there is a backup power source, all the GPS tracking they tout goes bye, bye with a snip through the battery cable.
