Yes it is, very sad indeed. And what is even sadder is how these super expensive European models won't even offer time and mileage EXTENDED warranties that are as good or long as the cheaper models in their class that cost half as much. (read Jeep).

At least there is an option for extended warranty beyond the factory period for these cars. MB, BMW, Porsche, RR offer extended warranty or CPO's when purchased used, some last for 7 years/100k miles which isn't bad for an average driver.

Re: Grand Cherokee vs the new Range Rover Sport

The higher priced these euro cars are the less of a REAL warranty you really get. What's all that upfront cash for other then to warm the pockets of the corporation.

Re: Grand Cherokee vs the new Range Rover Sport

There is an extended warranty for these euro cars. The problem is that they're garbage right off the assembly line so they spend a lot of time in the service department on the rack. The people dump them due to that and dissatisfaction and that's when they wind up on the lot in bunches with no buyers.

It's a hit or miss like with everything else, I have 20k problem free miles with my X5 so far and hopefully It lasts.

Re: Grand Cherokee vs the new Range Rover Sport

That's a good deal, let's see how your X5 will be at 50,000 miles and what the repair costs will be. Also other then oil changes how often has it been in service for anything other then oil and tire rotations?

That was one of the first things I noticed when we were looking at BMW's. There were a ton of them for sale on the lot, at or near the end of the mileage warranty. Between that, along with the lack of an extended warranty comparable to Chrysler Jeep, and the salesman being really pushy about leasing, it was enough to send me back to Jeep running.

How is the air suspension a joke Off Road? QL is what makes it so capable off-roading- obviously its not gonna ride like a Caddy but the ability to gain ground clearance while sacrificing a little in comfort is necessary.

Expiring/expired leases could explain a significant number of the used cars sitting on the lot.

Yeah, expiring consumer confidence that they can actually DRIVE the rr or other euro cars instead of waiting for them to be fixed in the service bays.

Perhaps when these European factories hire enough Syrian refugees, their quality will improve enough to where people will actually want to take a chance BUYING all of this euro trash, instead of constantly LEASING, (renting), it. But somehow I rather doubt it.
