Im sorry...but that doesnt outperform the current jeep srt...snd for double the price. And i hate to break it to a few of you...no.one wants a jeep srt that will go offroad...well...maybe 3 people out of thousands of buyers. We dont want an air suspension...we dotn want offroad ability. We dont care. Drop it. The jeep trackhawk will.destroy that rr svr performance wise..which is ALL we care about.

Grand Cherokee vs the new Range Rover Sport

I just don't find them very attractive. Sure the interior is super nice but that doesn't make me want one. And that's fine, I can't afford one anyways. I'd rather dump the money into my house and drive a Jeep instead. But that's only my logic...

You're dreaming if you think that RR can out perform the SRT.

My problem with that logic though is that once you say "I don't care about offroad ability" I start to ask "but then why an SUV at all?" Why not start looking at sports sedans or cars that will be even faster? Granted, I'm not an SRT buyer, but on the other hand, that's why I'm not an SRT buyer. I don't deny that current SRT buyers might not care, but there's obviously self selection there.

To put this another way, if a 6.4L SRT engine/brakes was available for my current Jeep with all the regular Overland/Summit features I would have spent the money to get it. But giving up those features was a deal-breaker for me.

Assuming they could, it wouldn't be off the service rack long enough to do it.

Why buy an SUV SRT? Because I dont like sedans....i have a family and I need the utility...but not offroad ability. I also want a fast vehicle. Im 6' 6"...so i like the size of this suv. Your points are really moot points as the jeep SRT is the best selling of all the high performance suv's. Over 43000 Jeep SRT's have sold since 2012. So obviously something isnright about the Jeep SRT. One thing...can that SVR tow 7200 pounds? Does the rr sport have a tow rating?

Also....if u need offroad ability...why buy an suv?

I agree! I would have liked the SRT over my Hemi Overland, too! However, when I looked at the SRT ground clearance (none) I realized it would be a beefed-up snow plow in the winter! Bad . . . very bad! I wanted the motor & horse power but the rest of the vehicle was not a good fit for me!

Exactly. Plus the styling and other features that said more "I want to race at the track" rather than "I like a nice luxury vehicle". I live in an urban area and we have one car for the household. I don't have a "track vehicle" and a "deep snow/off road" vehicle. So I got the biggest engine available in a config that still allowed me to tackle deep snow, flooding and light offroading that also pleased the wife. I doubt you and I are the only people that feel this way.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that different people have different needs. It isn't unforeseeable that some people will want speed + offroad ability. I bought a Jeep exactly because I needed offroad ability - otherwise I would have bought a BMW X5 or something (which, has absolutely no offroad ability whatsoever). So a Jeep minus offroad ability is perplexing to me.

To answer your question: the SVR can tow 7,716 lb, even more than the SRT. But honestly, I doubt this is what would sway anyone one way or another. For me, the fact that the SVR can ford standing water, crush deep snow, go on dirt trails, etc. is much more appealing than the hair faster the SRT might go. That slight speed difference would be imperceptible to me, while the inability to do things wouldn't be.

Also, with respect to sales, 43k+ SRTs since 2012 isn't a small number but it also isn't massive when you consider that Jeep sold over 154k Grand Cherokees in the US and 165k worldwide in 2012 alone, with that number rising to almost 200k in the US and over 275k worldwide in 2015. Point is, I don't think the sales numbers suggest that anyone that cares about speed is just getting an SRT. IIRC, the take rate on the hemi is what, around 30%? If you take 30% of 200k you get 60k cars. I'm going to wager that anyone that sprung for a 5.7L hemi would have prefered the SRT hemi. Lets say that half would have spent a good chunk of change to get it. Already, you're talking about 30k cars over the course of 1 year.
