Yup. You have sport mode engaged. Next time your in Drive, give the gear shift a tap downward (toward the center console). That activate or deactivates Sport mode
Its still fully automatic. You can use the paddle shifters in both normal and sport mode. All sport mode does is increase the RPM between shifts. So youll stay in lower gears at higher RPM's for better throttle response vs the standard driving mode.
Sport mode really wakes the car up (atleast with the V8, not sure about with the 6). Changes shift points, throttle response, puts it in aero ride height. Its actually quite fun!
Good question. I dont see why you wouldnt be able to but more importantly why you would? No need to have cruise control set at 70mph and your RPM's at 4k when you could be in 8th at 2500RPM. Would just be a waste of gas for cruise control.
Only thing you don't get in sport mode is the selec terrain system. Also, at highway speeds, you'd be very hard pressed to tell the difference between sport and normal (eco off) in a double blind. The one benefit to sport mode for me is that it actually allows you to have one ride height for your entire ride, which is great for towing! So my sport has more or less just become my tow-mode.
