Re: Grill insert part number yet?

I want to verify/clarify this...

Is the OEM Overland Summit Grille, MOPAR Part No.: 68089734AA (which lists for $429 & wholesales for $254) in the pic below?

The OEM Overland Grille is MOPAR Part No.: 57010708Ac, no price available.

Now, what is MOPAR Part No.: 82212227 (list $390)? Is it the MOPAR Chrome/Mesh Grille as seen in the accessory catalog or is it the OEM Overland Summit Grille INSERT?

UPDATE: MOPAR Part No.: 82212227 is the Stainless Chrome/Mesh Grille as seen in the accessory catalog. There is no OEM Overland Summit Grille Insert; misconception.

Re: Grill insert part number yet?

The pic above looks like a chrome version of the stock Overland "honeycomb" grill. I'm looking for the Stainless Steel "Mesh" accessory.
Chromed Stainless Steel Mesh Grille Insert: Part #: 82212227

Re: Grill insert part number yet?

Mopar part # 82212227 is the one in the accessory catalog. It has never begun production and according to a dealer I received an answer from this morning, never will. Mopar 82212227 is NOT the summit grille, as in what we are seeing in the summit pictures and what some members are ordering from dealerships, that is the Summit grille.

"Thank you for the inquiry, however, the 82212227 grille insert will not be put into production and is not available. "

Re: Grill insert part number yet?

Just returned from the dealership because my Jeep was in to get the Steering Wheel Audio Switch replaced, ESC Flash (TSB Fix), Steering Wheel Re-Alignment (TSB Fix) and a few other things.

I asked the parts guy about the grilles and this was what he had to say:

- MOPAR Part No.: 57010708AC (OEM Overland) $260.00, Status: In-Stock/1-Day

- MOPAR Part No.: 68089734AA (OEM Overland Summit) $424.00, Status: Back Ordered

- MOPAR Part No.: 82212227 (Stainless Chrome Mesh) $388.00, Status: Vendor Ship. Vendor Ship meaning its available to order but the vendor that MOPAR has chosen to make it could ship it in a day or 3-months.

Again, this was the word of this parts guy.

Re: Grill insert part number yet?

Well that's somewhat more encouraging. At least there's hope the mesh grill will be available.

Re: Grill insert part number yet?

I can't believe you have to buy an entire new grille just to get the chrome mesh. Very disappointing if true.

It would seem to be the case... Check-out Scottina06's posting here Front bumper cover removal. Notice how the the black plastic slats are attached to the front, its all one piece. Now, I am sure you could get some stainless of chrome mesh from Autozone or wherever, cut the plastic out and make-your-own, but I am not sure how it would turnout.

Also in this thread you will see pattyboy's pics of the new Summit grille he installed.

Re: Grill insert part number yet?

68098734AA. Is what installed on Sunday. Yes it is 424.00 I paid 274.00 the grill accepts inserts, the stock Overland does not have provisions to accept inserts the black Mesh is one piece, And is part of the grille structure, I may be wrong but i don't think so
