Re: Guy has a lemon Jeep Grand Cherokee, makes a video about it

The video is big on drama, short on facts. Other than making a big noise, there is no way to consider his issues due to lack of details. Hope he was treated right, whether or not he was you cannot tell from the video.

You handled yourself in a professional manner which garnishes more with a company than acting like the guy in the video. I hate to hear of issues with new cars, but they happen. I would like to see Jeep fix his vehicle but nothing else. His demeanor changes everything, the one getting a tarnished image in this video is him. I hope Jeep stands strong against this baboon and offers "just a fix for his vehicle" there is no reason for anything else. There have been many members on here with issues that have been resolved by acting in which an adult should.

Re: Guy has a lemon Jeep Grand Cherokee, makes a video about it

Good for him!!! I started the buy back process in late January of 2015 for my 2014 GC Summit Diesel. Finally finished everything in late June. I was told many many lies along the way. Not until I started to show proof of the paper trail and phone recordings did things turn around. Pure BS that it took that long and hours on the phone and emails. This is already after my GC was in the shop multiple times and the last visit was 45 days. This is not my first Chrysler product (5 others. 2 of which had big issues too. )but it WILL be my last.

Re: Guy has a lemon Jeep Grand Cherokee, makes a video about it

I don't know how bad his Jeep is or how bad the service department treated him.

But in the spirit of getting lemons and making lemonade, Jeep should take care of him, then hire him to do commercials for the internet. Make him a believer, give him some $$$, and the payoff to Fiat/Chrysler should be many fold.

Your situation is a great example of how you attract more bees with honey. It never hurts to try and be nice and professional no matter how upset you are as a customer. I've had similar results with other vehicles and manufacturers after I approached them in a calm, polite, professional manner and they responded quickly and in a professional manner too.

Sure he did. First he got to vent his frustration. Second I would bet Jeep/Chrysler tries to fix his problem. Not that the video will go away but if they fix his problem. More video wont be made.

We were calm and nice the whole time and just kept asking for someone to please help us but after a while you sure get chapped lips from all the ass kissing.

You never know if things like this are legit or the guy is just trolling or has another agenda. However, it does highlight the power that consumers have now in terms of spreading the word and that corporations need to be more vigilant about resolving issues for customers.

Everyone has an experience of being jerked around by a company. Part of the problem is that these companies are so large and their customer service reps so dumbed down and powerless, it is hard to find someone who can actually make things happen to resolve an issue. In addition, you get accountants who are more concerned about short-term cost management than long term profit from keeping happy customers.

With that said, I've seen where consumer sometimes have unrealistic expectations or blow things way out of proportion and nothing you do will satisfy their demands.

.

I suspect his car is already fixed. As others have said the facts are vague, so it's hard to know but the owner doesn't actually say it's currently broken. The problems he refers to all sound like ones that have already had fixes available for. If so, what's the problem?

True, and I think this is the real issue he doesn't like the treatment he got. Does this mean every owner who got stuffed around by dealers should get a refund? He's being unreasonable IMO

I just looked at a part of the video again and I noticed he shows it smoking as if on fire. If his Jeep never emitted visible smoke like that - which I doubt it did - that could be considered product disparagement (not that Jeep would act on that though) and to me undermines his complaint(s) and credibility.

The bottom line for Jeep though is to continue to improve product quality and for goodness sake make improving the dealer network a top issue as that really is the weak link.

He's already received what he really wanted, internet popularity. I'd really like to know how he approached his issues with the dealer. Was he civil and polite? I doubt it. I bet he has been treated, as he has treated others, but of course he isn't happy with that.
