Re: Hail damage

That was just from the shop, have not seen the adjuster yet. I questioned them about the tight areas like the tops of the doors, a pillar etc, and he said no problem. This shop does a lot of work for the dealers in town, they had bmw's and benz's waiting so I hope they do good work. They have to buy all those trim pieces from chrysler, they don't repair them, right now it is about 5 days to source the parts so don't delay, it will only get longer.

Re: Hail damage

For areas they can't do with behind the panel PDR they use a glue/dent puller type tool...I've seen it first hand, pretty cool...

Re: Hail damage

I'm in Denver too, and lucked out with only 3-4 visible dents. Who are you guys going to see in Denver? I need to go get it checked out this weekend.
Best,

Re: Hail damage

I am waiting to meet the adjuster on June 4th then I'll go from there. Keep me informed where you go if you do go somewhere. Glad to hear you made it out with only a few dents. Hopefully that's not too bad on the pocket.

The adjuster was out this morning to look at my other two hail damaged vehicles and I asked her to elaborate as to why she had mentioned the aluminum hoods are not repairable.

She said some shops do offer PDR for aluminum, but some customers have had paint problems down the road so this particular insurance company now opts for replacement rather than PDR.

Re: Hail damage

I had both cars for several years after the hoods were repaired...no paint issues...

Its difficult to do, and takes a LOT more time than with steel. I think a lot of shops just don't want to do it on aluminum panels.

Re: Hail damage

I got blasted driving on 470 the other day, but don't think I have any damage. I checked the hood and roof, but did not see any dents.

Lucky me, I suppose.

Precision up in Longmont is quite good, not cheap nor fast and typically booked to the hilt.
Got their recommend from two different dealers and insurance agent.
Dunno if they do the pdr repairs.

Your dealer should be able to give you at least one recommend unless the dealer does their own bodywork.
