This is why if I do get reps im getting the from Factory Reproductions, there are cheaper places but you cant beat a lifetime warranty.

It depends on who you buy them from, I dont know for sure but if i recall correctly the ones from factory reproductions are made in the US.

Re: Hairline crack found on inner SRT Replica

First and foremost, I would never (ever) put any aftermarket wheels on any vehicle.

From an engineering perspective, the validation requirements that the OEMs have (Chrysler/GM/Ford, etc) is far greater than that of the validation requirements (sample size, radial load, impact load, and rotary load) of an aftermarket wheel, regardless of where (ie: Mexico, Kentucky, OR China) it is manufacturered. Consider what you're doing: loading a vehicle up (with the vehicle mass) and rolling it down a road at 80+MPH.

What I am saying (in general) is that the OEMs develop wheels for SPECIFIC loads and applications, but aftermarket wheel companies develop products using lesser validation requirements (like SAE guidelines for instance). They do this to be able to market to a larger consumer base, and cover their "liability" by using "suggested" validation requirements. NOT those that the platform engineering expert required. Also - the aftermarket companies do not need to have large sample sizes when validation occurs - as do the OEMs.

My opinion, stay a-w-a-y from any aftermarket wheel.

I agree, I would be uncomfortable driving them at high speeds.

Even stock wheels, especially light ones, crack consistently when hiting a pot hole. Short, stiff sidewalls and lighter, less stiff materials combine to form a possible problem. I have two Porsche sport design wheels waiting to go to the recycling bin to recoup some of the cost of replacement. I would venture that the wheel above will not get a warranty claim, regardless of the few miles that it has on the road.

Re: Hairline crack found on inner SRT Replica

I havent had a response back yet. I purchased the rim from Quadratec. When I received it it was in a factory reproductions box.?? Due to family and work I havent had a chance to call personally.

^^ Glad they took care of that for you...

I feel more comfortable on my HRE's than I did on my stockers...to each their own
