I run a prodigy on all my real tow vehicles. The jeep is really only to maneuver trailers in the yard for its short wheelbase

Re: have we bought our last chrysler product?

If you're only maneuvering in the yard...a brake controller isn't really a big deal is it? From an outside perspective...and I've been there before...hearing that a rebate, or sale, or whatever happens after you put down the money that represents your hard work, time and effort...well...frankly it sucks. 9 out of 10 times, you had to work your ass off to earn that cash. And now...somebody else didn't have to earn as much as you did to get the same thing. Capitalism! Is that the fault of Chrysler? I don't think so. It's the system we live in. It's definitely not a reflection on you, or anyone else. Wouldn't it be great if we could come back 6 months, even 2 years later and get the rebate? Here's the rub, if that were a possibility, then the rebate wouldn't even exist. Really, the monetary value placed on an object is only fixed in time and space by our mutual agreement of it's value. Money is worth nothing unless we agree it's worth something.

I'm a bit envious of you though, as I am currently in a place where I can't own a POV (and prison, it ain't). Be thankful for what you have and enjoy it. Money is just a thing. Not worth the paper it's printed on...

I don't feel entitled to anything. but I am a firm believer in the squeaky wheel gets the grease. (I am an engineer). Lots of times with several companies, you can get something just for complaining. And is that right? maybe not... but its the way the world works.

We do in fact love the 2014 grand Cherokee, miles ahead of the 07 CRD we traded in.

Some of my infuriation is being out the money for the brake controller as I have no brake controller with no intended delivery date. (yes going back to the dealer for a refund on it).

As for returning things for lower prices. If you buy an appliance today, and next week its on sale, the store will honor the new price for you. FACT. This is mostly due to the ability to return the appliance and just rebuy another one.

I also should say my opinion of car companies and dealers in general is pretty dismal... but then again I also own a 6.0L ford... so that should explain a lot
Most stores that do that have a 30-day policy for price matching. I've never heard of a dealership doing that, but then I haven't bought 50 cars in 30 years or whatever it was.

Fully understand your frustration, but you say you were on the phone for two hours with the CSR. I imagine she "couldn't get off the phone fast enough" because she is probably under some pressure to resolve calls within a certain amount of time. That's how these centers work. And I agree -- they are totally useless and powerless. I even had a rep supposed at "Top Care" and they had less power than the local district service manager. All they could do is listen to me vent, which I appreciated, but in the end they were totally unable to do anything to resolve the problem I was having with my '14 Jeep.

It will probably be hard to hear, and I get your frustration, but it is $500. If you have a "good" 2014 GC, and you're enjoying it, I'd try to put it behind you if you can. My Jeep nightmare is heading into its third month now, and I would gladly pay $500 or more to just be enjoying a "good" Jeep right now.

Re: have we bought our last chrysler product?

a good jeep it is, although only 600 miles into the experience. and it was not 2 hours with one person, I got passed around a little first.

as for brake controller, its a steep driveway and I am paranoid about losing a setup down the embankment.

Exactly! For those of us that never got a rebate or anything for that matter after their purchase I don't get this at all.

Re: have we bought our last chrysler product?

You are crossing an ethical boundary you should not cross. I really feel sorry for the Customer Care Rep because your request for a retroactive rebate or some free oil changes is ridiculous.

She talked to you for two hours and you claim that she "couldn't be more pushy about hanging up the phone". Take a hard look at yourself in the mirror.

When you get what you want in your struggles for self

And the world makes you king for a day,

Just go to a mirror and look at yourself

And see what that man has to say.

For it isn't your father or mother or wife

Whose judgment upon you must pass,

The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life

Is the one staring back from the glass.

Some people might think you're a straight-shooting chum

And call you a wonderful guy.

But the man in the glass says you're only a bum

If you can't look him straight in the eye.

He's the fellow to please, never mind all the rest

For he's with you clear to the end

And you've passed your most dangerous test

If the guy in the glass is your friend.

You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years

And get pats on the back as you pass

But your final reward will be heartache and tears

If you've cheated the man in the glass.

Re: have we bought our last chrysler product?

Can we keep it lighter with poetry around here?
I was disappointed with receiving the rebate after the fact as well. And I asked for the same thing - to have at least some of the money transformed in credit for accessories or services.

Re: have we bought our last chrysler product?

let's see here, crybaby -In the entire WK history, when hasn't there been an incentive offered? Maybe if you WAITED a few months, you woulda got an incentive to purchase. But no, you had to be one of the first to have one, and now that the 5-minute thrill of the new car is over...it is everyones fault but yours....

Go buy a Traverse next time and be sure you get all the monies back on one of those before signing, maybe you will feel better.....

As far as the brake contoller...A Drawtite slimline will work just as well..Fits perfectly between the ebrake and the rocker. Piece of Velcro will hold it in place..

Not to hijack the thread, but what is a MG Summit?

At this point, wouldn't it just be easier to post a link to yer story in yer sig instead of mentioning it everywhere?
