Headlight level too high? 2014 overland

So the headlight light height on my 14 overland seems really high... I mean they light up street signs 1/2 mile down the road it seems like... i've gotten flashed several couple times by oncoming traffic. When i turn the brights on the height raises a little, but not much. I've also noticed when i first start my car in the garage, the lights on the wall start low and then auto-adjust to a higher level. How are the auto-leveling lights supposed to operate? Has anyone else noticed this?

There are a couple of threads on the subject.

Yes, this is how they operate at startup. Yes, there are some threads floating around about this. I myself have adjusted my headlights down because I kept on getting flashed. Also, when they're aimed that high, the high beams are pointed at the tree tops. LOL

It was a pretty big problem in 2012. Dealer realigned mine and they have been fine since

Re: Headlight level too high? 2014 overland

you can adjust up and down while they are on.......

cut off line should be 2 inches below level at 25 feet from the wall.

and to find the level look at your headlight there is usually a mark at the midpoint of the projector on the lens. if not, level line is middle of projector from ground.

Thanks guys. Is there directions somewhere on how to adjust? Does the headlight have to be removed?

Looking at the top around the projector there should be a hole you can look in with a white adjuster that you can see.

Turn on the lights so you can see them on the wall/garage and use a phillips head screwdriver to lower them. Not sure of the direction but it is obvious when you start doing it
