Entirely possible Bill considering the owners manual and users guide are both up to revision 6. I find the DVD and downloads of the owner manual fairly worthless as I like to have a hard copy when sitting in my jeep going though things. Be nice if they gave us a hard copy of the owners manual with the jeep but I suppose they are trying to be green. They will mail you a one time hard copy of the owners manual if you call or email Jeep corporate and request it. is good to wait until they are done revising it though. I requested my 2014 copy at rev 2 and of course they are up to rev 8 lol. so my rev 2 tells me to change spark plugs at 30k and of course its clearly a 100k change on the 2014+. eight revisions is getting a little ridiculous they need to work on that among other things. Is nice to have the hard copy to keep in the jeep though when you want to look something up

Really? You want to get into that kind of pissing match?

From not being able to read, to implying superiority because of a theoretical payoff on a vehicle you don't know how to use. Man, you're just moving on up aren't you??

Re: Heated Seats / Wheel ??

Just a quick question. Billt look on the back of your " User Guide " Look at the bottom what revision do you have? Mine is the 5th edition and mine talks about heated seats on page 34-35 and tells me I can set that through my u-connect. Unless you have a different version or maybe a misprinted book it should be the same.

Re: Heated Seats / Wheel ??

I live in the Northeast and I love the automatic heated seats/steering wheel feature. I can see where it might not be as useful in Arizona. However, including features in all of their vehicles is cheaper than customizing them for specific markets.

The heated seats/wheel automatically comes on when the temperature is below 40 degrees. I have seem them come on when it's slightly warmer, so it could be that the temperature sensor that Jeep uses is not all that accurate (+/- a few degrees).

As for the User Guide / Owner's manual discussion, there are different versions. Look at the link below to find the various editions.

Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - Brochures, manuals and literature

In the 2015 User Guide (based on the PDF at the site above) the heated seat automatic operation on startup is briefly mentioned on page 32 and refers to the owner's manual. The 2015 owners manual describes the operation on page 353 (refer to the PDF at the link above). The setting can be configured for Off, Remote Start, and All Starts.

Hope that helps.

Or, when remote start is used, if equipped. Actually either the heat or the vent will come on.
It is in the 8th edition owners manual... search using steering wheel worked.

Just to add, it explains the heated seat opperation on pages 147 and 148 of your vehicle manual, clearly spelling out how they work with a remote start.

"This feature can be programmed through the Uconnect®
system. Refer to “Uconnect® Settings” in “Understanding
Your Instrument Panel” for further information."

That section starts on page 279, and the specific part about the seat heaters is on page 343...

This rant amuses me...
It wasn't a rant, it was a critique.
It is National Cookie Day... lets go celebrate.

Yeah, he lives in the part of Arizona that gets below 40 degrees!

Must be near Flagstaff, as I've hit Tucson when it was 120 at 10 am and I didn't have the heart to check later in the day.

Quoting this because it is so damn funny (and accurate) about the childish behavior of some folks.

Thanks Silvermax. I'm the same with DVD's. They're worthless as far as I'm concerned. You need to have a hard copy manual when sitting in the vehicle, going through these things. For what they charge for these cars, you should get one with the vehicle, and not have to request it. It's silly to give you one, then try to save a couple of bucks on the other, better detailed manual that most likely would have helped me out...... IF I had a hard copy. Now I've got to fart around, going through a DVD in an attempt to find out what I need.

It funny how your spark plug change went from 30K interval to 100K, while your engine did nothing but run. This type of crap is almost comical. It use to be they never "revised" these things, unless something was screwed up. Now they do it every 15 minutes. I'll E-Mail Jeep Corporate and attempt to get a hard copy manual. Thanks again.
