I leased a 2014 Grand Cherokee Overland a month ago Friday. Since driving it off the lot the "vehicle phone see dealer" message has randomly been popping on the 8.4 screen. I have taken it in 5 times now in a month. They have "updated" software twice and replaced the unit once. It is scheduled to be replaced again tomorrow. I have now made 2 payments on this thing. WTH I'm i supposed to do if this continues? If they are able to fix it can I expect some compensation from Chrysler? MANY thanks in advance for your help!!!
They should put a clause in all the signing documents that 1st yr people who purchase are basically "Beta" testers and no compensation will be offered. Granted most issues are minimal problems, it all depends on big of an issue the owner wants to make it.
The "Service Phone" problem is a very minor thing that comes and goes. Make sure they update your radio (or you can do it) to the latest 13.38 software. 13.19 made that issue come out more (atleast for me) but haven't had it since I updated the software.
Most Lemon laws state that the issue, must affect the performance or safety of the vehicle. A minor radio issue would probably not qualify for Lemon law.
