Unhappy Help me please

When the WK2 Overland first came out, I became so excited, I knew I had to have one. I traded in my WK and end of story. Ever since then I gradually keep missing the WK and that Jeep feeling I got when driving it that I don't seem to get in my Overland anymore. Don't get me wrong its an awesome vehicle but it seems like it just doesn't have that x factor anymore. Its like when I drive my wife's Mercedes and then drive my Mustang. Ya its got a live rear axle but the looks and the performance just scream that imperfectly perfect Mustang soul or x-factor. They're just so f#cking cool!!!

When the WK2 first came out it was elegant, strong, and the interior had greater materials used albeit in a plain and simple way. But now it seems none of it says Jeep the way that WK styling did. The front Jeep rounded headlights and foglights, the side profile, the lack of any chrome plastic, and rear end all instantly said Grand Cherokee. The interior even though hard plastic still LOOKED GREAT and said JEEP along with the ride of that solid rear axle. The durability and ruggedness and lack if electronics used that said this vehicle will last me loyally for a very long time... Now I shudder when I think how many gizmos and features and sensors are on this WK2 and how quickly they'll fail in five years just like any luxury brand. My wife even said other day my Jeep reminds her of a new X5 even on the inside with the wood and metal lip trim....I'm losing my mind and having a Jeep crisis right now...

Remind me why I bought this car or am I just finally seeing things clearly and should wait till a perfect WK comes along and trade it?

Re: Help me please

If you're worried about all the gizmos failing in five years, consider picking up the Lifetime Maxcare warranty which you should be able to get for a little under 2k. For me, it was a no-brainer as I tend to keep my vehicles a long time (kept my previous JGC for 14 years.)

On the other hand, if you really don't feel like the WK2 is the Jeep for you - well, tastes vary and no vehicle is perfect for everyone. If the bit about the extended warranty would not ease your mind, well life's too short not to be driving the vehicle that makes you smile every day.

I'm glad that, for me, it's my WK2 - but YMMV as they say.

Re: Help me please

This guy sound suspiciously like Ricflair that had the other thread about how the WK and X5 were superior to the WK2. Either way it sounds like more trolling.

WK2 Test Drive

Is this you with a different user name? Threads seem eerily similar.

Re: Help me please

No I'm not trolling and I'm definately not ric flair. I did read his post and his shit got me going lately. Perhaps I didn't communicate correctly in my original post. I do like my WK2 and I did love it at first. Ive had it 6 months now I'm just falling out little bit and looking for some positivity and some enthusiasms. Sorry, I will try to figure it out myself.

Re: Help me please

This guy sounds like another one of those WK trolls we have been seeing here recently. First off, anyone that thinks the WK is better because it has a live axle is just a moron, or because it needs to have a bunch of cheap looking plastic on the inside to remind you of it being a Jeep.
I am willing to go out on a limb here and say this guy probably doesnt even have a WK2, and its just another lonely and jealous WK owner aka ricflair.

Get over the fact that the WK is old and out dated and doesnt even come close to comparing to the WK2 in anyway shape or form. No I dont want more plastic, no I dont want stupid looking round headlights, or a antique live axle. This is 2012, if you continue to build junk like that you will go out of business.

ricflair = tool

That, boys.... is what we call a super mod pimp slap.

Only something that can be done by the more feminine of our mod corps. (which includes scott and paul, just saying)
