My advice is to take a deep breath and wait. It will take a while - I think mine took about 2 months until it was completely gone, but it will eventually fade completely away. Believe me, I know the sick feeling in the bottom of your stomach when you see it at first, and I wish someone would have just told me its NOT permanent!
This is the only reply that really helped me out and made me feel much better! Very happy to hear it will go away on its own.

FTR: I bought a Overland Edition because its drop dead beautiful.. I live in South Florida and won't be doing any off roading (besides driving up to Daytona Beach and do some Jeep Beach days) my Jeep is the type to stay shining every single day and tire shined w/ water based shines going forward. I traded in a BMW X1 ///MSport for her lol and own a 2014 Lexus iS350 FSport white on red as well.. Im not that country boy that owns a Jeep and believe I have to keep her dirty lmao.

Out of curiosity, how often to you wash/wax your jeep? If you say rarely/never then I totally get it. If you say weekly I'll be baffled.

Re: HELP!! Meguiars Tire Shined Stained My Painted Trim!!!

I use a different meguiars product. Not sure of the name but after I apply I use a towel and wipe the "shine" off. That leaves the tires looking brand new black but not dripping wet.

I see very little of the product thrown off in the wheel well or down the side of the vehicle.

I can't believe that your jeep has those stains from using tire shine. It makes me cringe. I have a white overland also so that hits close to home for me. I'll be extra careful going forward.

Good luck with getting that cleaned up! When it does come out pleas tell me how you did it.

White WK2 & SRT owners said same thing happened to them and the stains go away completely from the sun within 2-3 months.. It really isnt too noticeable in the mean time.

Re: HELP!! Meguiars Tire Shined Stained My Painted Trim!!!

This seems to be a white paint problem primarily (although I have heard of it on some light silver paints as well). That's not to say it doesn't happen on other colors, you just can't see it apparently. It has nothing to do with Chrysler paints - it has happened on lots of brands of cars. It also has nothing to do with road grime, dirt, etc. It is a reaction between the solvents in the tire dressing and the tire itself which looks like brown dirt spots. To my knowledge nothing takes it off except several months of sunlight (or repainting ). I chose the former!

After it happened to me, I switched to a water based tire dressing sparingly applied with a foam applicator and then wiped down with a towel. No problem since then. The hardest part is to find a water based product as most don't state on the label whether they are water or solvent based - if it says "long lasting" look out!

I honestly don't like an actual "shiny" appearance--but for those too cheap to buy mirrors for shaving, what the heck it is THEIR car!!!

Seriously, I've used that same product, but I use a camel hair brush to apply it, then take an old sweat shirt to wipe off the excess, and don't bother waiting for it to dry.

If you spray it on, I've noticed it tends to build up in the tire/wheel crack and I'd suspect it will stay liquid enough to sling all over the place. A good natural bristle brush helps in avoiding this.

I too like the darkened black look, just prefer a bit of matte finish... may not last as long, but this thing is my baby...

I think it looks so cheesy.
In the 50's you used baby oil with hair oil if you wanted a DA look.
Grease came just a tad later, unless you are talking about butch wax for the short haired look.

Cheesy would be a Wisconsin look...

The main issue I've had in the upper midwest are little rust colored spots the size of a pen dot that appear all over the vehicle. I've had this problem on several newer white colored cars I've owned, and while it comes out after using a clay bar, it's very annoying. The average Joe wouldn't notice it unless you really inspect the white paint. Not visible on other colors from what I can tell.
Bug poo? Or do you also get it when there are no grasshoppers in the area?
Maybe toss a picture at one of the detailing vendors here?
