Re: HELP!! Meguiars Tire Shined Stained My Painted Trim!!!

Whenever I see a car with shiny tire dressing, I think somebody who doesn't park too well is trying to cover up the scuff marks.

BTW - Where can I buy some of that stuff.

Painful to see those pictures. I had the same issue and tried every possible cleaning product with no success. I ended up painting the molding .

Re: HELP!! Meguiars Tire Shined Stained My Painted Trim!!!

I have been told that the majority of major car care products contain Silicon and in tyre shine this silicon when the tryes warm up melts and comes off on to the paint work. So it sounds like thats the issue
You may need to find a non silicon product.

In Australia we have a good one "Bowden's car care" no silicon in any of there products

Re: HELP!! Meguiars Tire Shined Stained My Painted Trim!!!

Just use water based tire gel; I never had any sling issues with such products like Zaino Z16 or Optimum Opti-Bond, both are water based gel type, not spray, and they become dry to the touch in a minute after application.. Even if you over apply or put 2 coats, you can simply wipe the tire with a towel and you're good to go..
If you want something to last much longer and doesn't have to be applied weekly or after every wash, try Tuf Shine Tire Clearcoat

Re: HELP!! Meguiars Tire Shined Stained My Painted Trim!!!

I am sorry this happened to you. I have tried just about everything that is out there and hadn't had this issue.

I can say after seeing the video on Adams that is posted earlier in the thread I am going to give it a try. That was an incredible video!

One of the things that has made me want to try Adams (got a few products this week) is their great videos. Very simple and no BS.

If it doesn't fade out I guess you can always have the wheel trim replaced. To bad it wasn't black like my Limited you wouldn't notice it. Where in S FL are you located? I'm in West Palm Beach. Bought my Jeep at Napleton but bringing it to Arrigo for service just because they are closer.

I'm with everyone else here, I'll be placing an order for some Adam's Super VRT and the undercarriage spray based on that great video.

Thanks, SNUKE!
