Used to be. Not anymore. With the recent problems in the auto industry, the dealers have really been trying to pare down the stock they hold. While there's always some big dealers who have tons of stock of some models, that is really no longer the rule. If something is popular, that keeps things that much more strained.

I imagine this weekend a buyer could go out and take home a WK2 with a Hemi, but that person is going to need to be flexible on trim level, color, and options. However, if you wanted something that moves in volume (like a full size truck or regular passenger car), you would stand a much better chance of being able to get it nailed down much more specifically.

Re: Hemi on restriction?

I ordered a V6 Overland on September 13. I was told it would take about 8 weeks. I had to take the standard 430n since the 730n was no longer available. What have others been hearing?

Re: Hemi on restriction?

Kgrencer if I buy one of those big sun block things people put in their cars sometimes, would that prevent the peeling? Not as hot here in NY but there can be 105 degrees in summer

Re: Hemi on restriction?

I have already tinted my windshield to 15% and that didnt help. It is the heat more than the sunlight.

I agree - I took my WK to the dealer (one of largest in Metro ATL) yesterday for some service work - not a single WK2 on the lot. Almost seems like they are only shipping when ordered by customers.

Re: Hemi on restriction?

I realize that this could threaten any warranty coverage on the dash, but feels like one might try a DIY and pick your own adhesive vs. wait for replacement dash(s)?

There's an abundance of Laredos and Limiteds in CO dealer lots.

Re: Hemi on restriction?

No one should "have" to purchase anything to the interior from the sun or heat. I put Ventshades on mine as I like to crack the windows on rainy days.

Most of the dealers around here only have two or three on the lot. They're always Laredos, too. I've never seen an Overland and I've only ever seen one Limited (which also happened to be the very first WK2 I ever saw in the flesh and the only WK2 on the lot). One dealer I went to a couple weekends ago had, I think, seven on the lot. They were all base Laredos, and one Laredo X. So there wasn't much choice in options; more like only a choice of color.

Re: Hemi on restriction?

Because I was planning to buy across the border in Michigan, I checked dealer inventory within a 25 mile radius of 48363 and the numbers were huge. Some dealers have over 30 on the lot. Most were Laredos , few Limiteds but almost all had at least 2 Overlands.

Re: Hemi on restriction?

I've been told by dealers that what shows up in their online inventory is what's on their lot AND what's been ordered. Specifically, when I called to confirm that the two overlands on their website were actually on the lot, I was told that no, they were on order but the dealer didn't have any control of their inventory page.
